Is it possible that we have just come to the same point as Europe and housing will just never be affordable again in America? And we will just never have the capital to do anything?

Correct. It's also pretty much irreversible at this point.

Europe will eventually die out, population wise. The houses won't see indefinite rise.

You think the prices will fall into affordability in 2 years?

Corporations buy all smaller homes and rent them out because they're always demand for them. Meanwhile construction doesnt build starter homes because they're not as profitable

Where? Overvalued condos in texas? Look at literally anywhere that was desireable before 2021, the home values are still going up. It's not crashing, cope and seethe for missing out. Find me literally a single estimate that housing prices will drop more than 12%. Literally every millenial is sitting on 50k literally begging for anything 250k or lower. The demand is STILL and WILL be insane for the next 50 years. Go ahead, post some 900k house in Massachusetts decreasing price on zillow by 100k when the thing was never worth 500.

With the amount of land mass in relation to inhabitants you fuckers shouldn't even have a housing crisis. Especially considering you build your houses with lumber.

I’m actually angry thinking about how retarded you faggots are. You are literally the equivalent of the people who in 2007 were rabidly convinced that housing prices would just keep going up forever and that everyone in the US would own a house by 2010. Markets have ALWAYS been cyclical and the fact you are on a finance board without being aware of that makes you quite possibly the stupidest people to ever exist.

I went to the US 10 years ago (Australian)

1 month worth of food in the US, costed about as much as it does for 1 weeks worth of food in Australia.

$10 of Maccas in the US was like $100 in Australia

All kinds of random products were like 5X cheaper in the US

Seeing $100,000 homes that would cost $1,000,000 in Australia

Now it seems like you fags are finally caught up with us on cost of living, thats what you get for constantly bagging about how easy and cheap living in the US was... you now have Australian/European cost of living

G fucking G, no fucking RE

Still seems pretty affordable to me. Median house price is like $350k and medium household income is $70k these days. If they scrimp and save a couple could sock away $70k for a very healthy downpayment in 3-4 years (or do a smaller downpayment if they don't want to wait that long) and get a mortgage. It's just a question of priorities. Do you want to own new cars, do you want to travel and take vacations, do you want to eat takeout every day of the week, etc. Or do you want to own a home and build equity.
