The chunk of land you put it on will still cost 6 figures. There might also be bylaws that prevent a shanty like that from being placed on it.

You'll have to check your local laws. Where I live they only allow 2 per acre of land on the lot (taken as a whole - they can all be put in the same area). There's also a limit on the size to under 110sqft. If you live anywhere near the city or suburbs there are also probably laws against this.

I spend some time in a cabin in austria. It's basically a tiny house. The stay was incredible and so I figured I research the company that build it and see if you can just purchase the exact same model. Turns out that works. Now I'm just looking for a place and then I'll buy one. Biz will prolly think it's way to expensive but like I said, I spend time in there for quite a while and actually love it. it's 100k€ and only 35 qm2. I will live of rent free of stock divvies and life will be good.

Im small town rural and lot is in "downtown" area so there is easy access to power and town water. My state just adopted some tiny home in-law apt law that trumps local zoning. If I could do three I would be happy. Even if it falls apart in five years, I can make money.

If you do the work yourself, you can be set up with all amenities, maybe 1.5 hours outside of a major population center for somewhere around 50k. Thats including purchasing all of the machinery you need.
