No I haven't but I have 2.5 million "robux" on my account from selling limiteds since I traded on the old ROBLOX forums (LMaD anyone?) like a decade ago. That's = to 8.75k USD but unfortunately you can only use their robux:USD exchange if you make the money from a game, so I'm using my robux to advertise my game on the site and hopefully it makes enough back to be something.

I'll update /biz/ if it works, I've been learning how to make games on roblox for 20 hours a week since late November and I've been testing it for the past couple of weeks, hopefully it starts making dough next weekend.

So consider this environment:
>Rising interest rates
>SPY and other indices are falling

>TQQQ should be crashing (on top of being more expensive)
Ergo, wouldn't a TQQQ short be the best way to make money?

I’d rather my millions in stock turn into more millions while paying no tax in the meantime than my millions in stock pay hundreds of thousands in dividends that are taxed at 35% to fund Israel.

I would totally rather retire by cashing out my shit before I abscond to a non extradition country to live out my life happily ever after a US tax refugee with a harem of Eastern European girls and a lambo than pay a fucking dime to Israel.

Well sure, I work at Walmart and our share program is not too bad, they match 15% contributions (up to $2,000 a year), and they pay a 1-2% dividend, and they seem to be very reliable on doing buybacks every quarter. I've been contributing for about 5 years now, and I have about 70 shares (cost basis of $90) and briefly when it peaked at $160/share, I had doubled my money. It's been consistently good, probably one of my better investments.

That may be true. If so, the market would price it in. GOOG would be cheaper because of the lack of a dividend, so GOOG owners would be compensated for tolerating that disadvantage. You'd be forced to pay more for your dividend stocks, so you wouldn't get the benefits for free.

Their 15% contribution works out to like a 13% discount on market price, which is nice. This effectively gives me a huge buffer against a downturn. Actually my best strategy is to maximize my contributions each year, and never withdraw anything. Once it hits a downturn and becomes a capital loss, sell it, then transfer the money to a TFSA and purchase an equal amount 30 days later (directly transferring it into a TFSA creates a taxable event, so selling at a loss is the best way to navigate taxation).
I had considering selling covered calls once I get 100 shares, since that would mean another $600-$1200 a year depending on value

i usually find it's the opposite where dividend companies are priced appropriately, but growth companies (the big ones at least) are extremely optimistic in their valuations. They are priced for infinite massive growth, and when that growth eventually stops (duh) then it craters like Meta and google and tesla.

Had they paid a dividend they may not have kept trying to grow profits to fund their mediocre acquisitions by making their core business user hostile. Now they have serious competition with chat bots threatening their model of having 5 ads per search and youtube video.

A 2-3% dividend would have relieved some of the pressure on their ad business to continue growing, and people would be free to speculate on their crazier projects via alphabet.

I've been watching a few Martin Shkreli videos that some anons recommended here a few weeks ago, since I had no idea how to use fundamentals properly. Mostly, he looked at revenue, cost of goods, gross profit/margin, and tax rates to forecast a company's future earnings alongside cash, debt, and shares outstanding to calculate the NPV and figure if a company way over/under valued. Of course, that's just a very simple model, but it's a good starting point once you've found one with eg good FCF and other stuff

small launch space company
what really sells it to me that it's artificially low is that when you look at the news stories on finviz every time there is a massive drop in price it's always on news of success which doesn't make sense

>Soyuz rockets are off-limits now because of Russia sanctions so US needs another launcher for their cold war with china
>shitloads of contracts with the govt and private companies, NASA, DARPA, Lockheed, etc
>launch more rockets than every other small launch provider combined
>100% mission success rate
>own the worlds only privately owned rocket launch pad
>There are only 3 companies that produce space grade solar panels used on satellites and they acquired the biggest one in 2022
>massive progress towards reusable small launch rockets
>have recovered rockets that have re-entered earth and test fired them again and they performed at the same level as new built rockets, even after being dunked in the ocean
>developing larger reusable rocket that will launch 2024 and absolutely dabs on spacex
>history of innovation, first ever 3d printed rocket
>Founder led company, CEO owns 12% of the shares and hasn't sold even though it's dropped 57%

They have a bit of debt because they acquired 4 different companies in 2022 but they are all best in class 100% mission success rate companies that allow basically every component to be developed in-house
They only went public in 2020 so not a lot of financial info which I think is one of the reasons for their low price as well
from what I can tell among space enthusiasts they are basically universally well regarded

Well natty gas is a waste product of crude extraction. Most of it is simply burned off into the atmosphere cause it’s so worthless it makes no sense to store or transport it. It’s basic cost is purely storage and transport which equates to around $2.50 give or take.

Sometimes there are supply shocks cause of weather and it spikes. It will always go back down cause natty gas is literally free. It’s a waste product. Sometimes it goes down below that 2.50ish price cause people stored too much for reasons and then they just burn more off into the atmosphere.

That’s the funny think about the climate cooks and green energy nut jobs. There is literally free energy for all intents and purposes and we burn off most of it cause it’s worthless while even still, the carbon “””pollution””” (it’s not pollution the carbon cycle is essential to life on earth), from mankind is eclipsed with a few volcanic eruptions / wildfires.

We could literally all have free energy if the government put the money they send to Israel into nuclear and gas electricity generation.

I don't mind covered calls and/or wheeling, but some anons have pointed out ITT over time that it takes on excessive risk for subpar gains and that's probably true. But I view it as a tool as well, so it just depends how you use it.
One thing that I don't understand is how VIX can rally 5% or 8% in a day, but an ATM call barely moves, like 4-6% at best. Does it have to do with the VVIX? It seems that it's been lowering, so I suppose VIX contracts themselves have less IV in them

>>53155094

IMO it's much more complex. It correlates with money supply and energy cost, and competes with treasuries as a zero-ish real yielding reserve asset of indefinite duration. Additionally there are the BRICS shennigans which will be interesting to watch. Let's just say: the price of gold vs USTs tells you who is currently winning Cold War II. There's a reason BRICS countries are stacking.

This is a better way to show what I am saying. Relative to money supply, both oil and gold track it over the long term pretty damn well, but there's still bad times to buy (1980, 2011) and good times to buy (1973, 2000). You can also see how closely they're correlated tho oil is obv more volatile.

So gold is flat vs money supply, but you can def swing it and gain purchasing power, and sometimes it will even outpace M2 growth (at the expense of other sectors underperforming it, like tech/growth).

i didn't, that fucker dropped precipitously. I continued to sell them underwater. i'll sell them at a .20 delta if i was being conservative, or if i figured it would keep going down more i'd sell ATM, then buy them back when the stock dropped, profiting from the loss of intrinsic value rather than theta. i did this at least 3 times, selling them for $400-500 in premium, then buying them back for $60-70. Not my ideal, Ideally i'd sell them ATM aggressively and get them called away weekly then rebuy the shares. I don't mind owning AMZN, i'm bagholding a couple hundred much higher in a TFSA.

I'd update on smg but I guess it could be its own post if I were really passionate for it (especially if it succeeded ha ha).

Roblox studio (their game-building software) is very easy to learn although it is a little weird watching tutorials online made by 16 year olds (or younger)! It is like any other business and I'm just remaking a popular browser game for the roblox audience.

One takeaway I have is that it is MUCH harder to get your game popular if you don't have "robux" already - roblox has very low discoverability for new games unless you can advertise it. Because my account is so old it had expensive items I sold to advertise my game, and if I didn't I would probably not even pursue the platform. Although there are some games that make eight figures a month, they also have teams of people and for every successful game there are tons of passion projects by high schoolers who spent hundreds of hours on it only to make absolutely nothing.

I guess it is a business like any other - I am not making a passion project, I am making a game I think will be popular (and has high money-making potential). One popular formula for a successful game on roblox is remaking a game that is popular on another platform.

I'm guessing the whole game-making process (starting from nothing) is taking me 180 hours overall to official release? And I'm also making a game that is more difficult than I had thought. I really only went into this to start a good programming discipline and thought roblox would be a good way to do it, but now I'm definitely excited to see if I can make a revenue producing product.

I have to sleep, but those are some of my thoughts on roblox, and honestly I'm probably going to stay off 4chan like I've been doing so I don't get distracted.

Q:
>There are doubts as to the extent to which monetary policy can do that, given that the main cause of inflation is not consumption but rising energy prices and disruptions to global value chains?

A:
>We have to show resilience in the face of persistent inflation and we must be careful in considering not only its symptoms but also its roots. What is causing inflation? It used to be predominantly supply-side driven. But now we need to be careful that the domestic causes that we are seeing, which are mainly related to fiscal measures and wage dynamics, do not lead to inflation becoming entrenched.

People acting like no one will ever want an electric car or truck again. It's so dumb and obvious at this point.

Btw look at fagman, (if you believe the idea that Tesla is a tech company before a car company), they all got beat up about 75% and are mostly recovering decently since then.
So there's the chance that Tesla just needs a washout and we'll get a recovery and hopefully that will coincide with a new Twitter CEO, weak CPI print, weak payroll, china reopening etc

the price cuts are consistent with the Tesla goal of bring foreard the transition to renewable energy.

considering the low to no profit margun EV production has for all other car companies, Tesla is smart to bring a shake out in the industry. Should help to cut the demand and allow Tesla to gain access to a great level of resources, which is a good thing. They can produce more cars with better range using less than the competition.

EM has made clear in the past that his priority for tesla is not the profit but mobility transformation. Makes total sense the cost saving will be pass on to consumers. Sad day for investors but they should see it coming from miles away.

The BBBY bashers are all over the place, trying to convince anyone who will listen to sell their shares. They crawl out from under their rocks, spewing lies and spreading fear and doubt. They try to use the company's recent statement about their financial future as evidence that BBBY is about to go bankrupt.

So what? It's just wording in a filing. If I file a document stating that I am a millionaire, does that make me one? And don't even get me started on the "anonymous sources" over at WSJ. We ain't falling for it. We're smarter than that. We see right through their tricks. We know that every company has its ups and downs. And we have faith that BBBY will overcome this bump in the road and come out even stronger.

So to all the BBBY bashers out there, we say this: bring it on. We're not afraid of your negativity. We won't be swayed by your insults or your baseless claims. We stand firm, united in our belief that BBBY is a strong and thriving company.

And if you disagree, if you truly believe that BBBY is going bankrupt, then you might as well join the shills. Because we don't want you. We don't need your negativity bringing us down. We don't need your lack of faith dragging us down.

We are warriors, fierce and determined. Like William Wallace, we will not back down in the face of adversity. We will stand up and fight for what we believe in, even if it means facing down the full might of the hater army.

You can try to bring us down with your negativity, but you will never succeed. We are the BBBY warriors, and we will emerge victorious. Our shares will rise to new heights, and the haters will be silenced once and for all.

So if you're with us, join the fight. Together, we will take on the shills and show them that they can't bring us down. Together, we will rise to the top. Together, we are unstoppable.

We may not know everything about the stock market, but we know enough to know that BBBY is a solid company.

Every car (outside of covid boom price bubble) loses 20% the moment it's registered cause a dealer can buy a new car for less than a customer would want for a month old car on trade in, so dealers offer much less even on a seemingly mint car and there's the used car market.
You're either dumb or female if you've never heard of this phenomenon.

A lot of celebratory news, internationally. Spain’s reduction in unemployment, France’s drop in consumer prices. All of it with the strange tone of “everything is healing” but we haven’t actually fixed any of the underlying issues. Supply chains are fucked permanently, globalization is changing because of Russia/China, war (and the potential for new wars) is disrupting everything.
