The last time we had a bunch of AI images in PMG it was a literal concentrated attack by a crypto discord to take over PMG and attempt to slowly shift the focus and take control over the narrative and get investors in their bags. A note they also did this by starting new threads early to split the group and kill off legitimate threads in favor of threads they had started with their own members already in the thread.yksahk

Do you buy from random shady pawn shops instead of any trusted dealer that's been in business for a couple years? Then yeah, they're testing your silver including the pandas and aren't going to sell you fake silver or risk destroying their reputation

Also looking towards the same kind of roll out for the Megumin.
And then the next thing you will know its time for the horsefuckers coins to come out too.
Golden Age of 4chan Coins we are living in.
What we now need is another pre-order or something in the works from any of the mints so we can have a steady influx of meme coins being shipped and produced.
But what I REALLY want to see next is that sword and silver Apu.
But I figure all in due time. And since the production cycles of all the mints are kind of in sync at the moment, it looks like I will have several more coins to look forward to seeing in the next couple months.

Any numisfags who can help me? I just bought a sovereign (Elizabeth, early 70s) from a fairly respectable LCS. Also have a George from the early 20s I bought off apmex.

The george is a little thicker (.1mm) and has a slightly smaller diameter(also about .1mm) than the elIzabeth. The Elizabeth also weighs exactly 8.000 grams, whereas the George is 7.98 or whatever sovereigns are supposed to be.

I will recalibrate my scale if i have to, presumably the George was actually in circulation so if the scale us off it could explain the difference… but are there tiny differences in dimensions between the coins? I’m thinking about going back with my calipers/scale and trying to return/swap it.

Pic shows the tiny difference when they’re stacked

Most the time you can only get them relatively cheaply ($50-70 USD) by pre-ordering and then waiting several months for the rounds to be minted and sent out. Because I want to save you of getting rekt and having to be forced your sell your assets if you have to pay bills 10k is not that much and in hyperinflation things tend to get exponentially expensive. Also another reason is that PM’s don’t pay you to hold them, not like dividend stocks or some crypto with staking, but those have their risks

Yes, but because you are new you should not ape in that is why the 5 - 10 % is a starting point, gold and silver, like any other assets goes up and down, with the extra cash you can DCA when you see dips

Depending on where you are, paying with your credit card is actually a smart idea if you are responsible and pay off the debt every month. It does 2 things: 1 for some vendors you get cashback rewards, 2 you build your credit score (both only count if you are in the US though)

Yes but imo not by inflation. It's easier to make common people poor by not giving out loans anymore. Young generation is poor and bought everything and most of all the real estate bubble with loans. Crashing real estate prices because no new money flows in to buy someone else's bags will lead to revaluation of the houses and the banks will ask for higher interest rates. 50% of private wealth in Europe is in real estate, mostly boomers. Housing is a basic need which is hold by multiple owners. Most of food and the distribution of food is controlled by a few companies. It is easy to create higher prices here for example if you cut off Russia or Ukraine, which provide together about 20% of the world grain supply. Now, the banks have time and they could go on creating money exclusively for military, police and bureaucracy while the rest gets poor quickly because increasing food prices consume a huge percentage of their income/wealth compared to cash rich people who also only need the same amount of food per day. Still, I'm bullish for silver because only few people hold it and it is essential for electric devices. But I am just a small farmer and don't really have insider knowledge. I can only say for sure that fertilizer prices went up the last years, farming wasn't really profitable compared to other meme businesses the last years and at the moment my government plans higher taxes for land owners. Also picrel is a thread I opened a few days ago and it was deleated emidiatly.

That was not clear from your previous comment, but you are clearly a troll so whatever:

Chemically both PVC and PVDC degrade due to weathering and other things. Dehydrohalogenation is the reaction of organic chlorine compounds (both PVC and PVDC) which can be expressed in the partial formula C-HC-Cl C=C + HCl (this is a crude simplification). Note that this reaction generates HCl, also known as hydrochloric acid (or muriatic acid). HCl is a powerful acid, attacking most metals.

>isnt it impossible for gold and silver to drastically devalue?
While precious metals have industrial applications, they are shiny metals, at the end of the day, and they got widely adopted because their properties make them appealing to humans naturally. However, its value is bestowed upon it by humans, and if people no longer value gold for whatever reason, they won't pay that much for it.
I don't think that gold will depreciate due to the volatility of liquidity getting out of hand in the financial system and central banks hoarding gold, but conceptually, it is possible, since value is memetic. It's more visible with things that don't have universal appeal, like stamps or Pokemon cards, which are tied to a specific generation or two.
More plausibly: gold is money, i.e. a call-option on other people's assets. If assets do not seem like a good investment, then value flows into money, and if they do, then value flows out from money into investments. Money is inherently a defensive asset because risk only exists in it in potentiality, but it of course doesn't do well when there's not much demand for defensive assets. Fiat currency has similar dynamics, except that there's less incentive to holding it because of inflation, so asset prices naturally increase with increased liquidity, though this runs the risk of malinvestment, since people have the double incentive of investing wisely and getting rid of their depreciating money, which leads to poorer outcomes than if they just optimized the investment. As a corollary, interest rates are pushed down (too much supply of currency, too little investable assets).

You have picked up some strange assumptions about PMs. Gold and silver have been the world's choice for money since money was invented three THOUSAND years ago. It was only fifty years ago that the world went off the last attachment to an international gold standard, and that was basically a criminal act on the part of the USA so it could pursue its fraudulent fiat scheme. Well, the fiat scheme is on its last legs. And when it dies, the world will turn back to gold and silver for safe money. The Central banks and major governments of the world know this is coming soon and are stuffing gold into their vaults as fast as they can. Record levels, friend. That isn't because they are "end of the world" fringe elements. They are the uber elite of world finance and they are stacking gold. I'm doing what they do.

>> No.53157520

Think of money just as an abstract tool. Its use is to store value and to purchase things with it. Ideally, it'd have a couple of properties: it should be scarce so you can differentiate someone who doesn't have it from someone who has it, it should be divisible, small, durable over time, and transmissible over space. Ideally, it's also anonymous.
But what is "value"? "Value" is a purely human concept, it exists purely as a meme in people's heads: someone has to value something; nothing has value in and of itself in nature. What we call "value" is the expectation that someone will give us something for it, and in the case of money, that someone else also has an expectation that he'll get something for your money, and so on. That's why I called it a "call option": if you have money, you can, but don't have to, purchase something with it. In the case of investing into a company, you're taking on risk by "exercising" the option via purchasing its shares. If there's a lot of good companies, then people will generally exercise that option and use their money to purchase shares, which means that there's more supply of money in the market, meaning that the price of money goes down relative to stocks or, equivalently, the price of stocks in terms of money goes up.
When there are few/no good investments, people don't want the risk of owning shares, but want to "go back" into money, to be able to have to option of purchasing something better in the future. Thus, in a downturn, the demand for money (which is, as said, an option to purchase "anything", including in the future) grows and its price relative to stocks increases. In that sense, money is defensive.
Both gold and fiat currency can function as money in a system like this, but fiat currency is not durable over time in terms of purchasing power, so there's more incentive for people to spend it anyway. The government essentially "incentivizes" people to give their money to corporations and banks.

If you don't melt it, then you can never be sure. Compare this picrel with my last picrel. Same coin! The fakes change color over time. I watched the color shift before my very eyes.

Coins require more labour to produce e.g. someone has to design it, put anti-counterfeit measures on it. Coins are also protected by the country that minting it, that would, in theory, discourage people of faking the coins, but Chyna doesn’t give a shit. Coins are also more recognisable and easier to sell and you get more of premium back too

Which do you get more from in terms of gold weight value between a sovereign and a 1/4oz gold coin? I think sovereigns weigh slightly more but the gold is less pure and they’re both around the same price (maybe sovereigns a little cheaper). I’ve been trying to decide which is better to start buying I just want the one with more gold value.

Full Sovereigns are 22k gold while the 1/4oz Britannia is 24k gold and are roughly the same gold weight content in both. When it comes to which one is better that's mainly down to preference and the numismatic value that can appreciate over time. For example, I have a 2021 Queen's Beasts Completer that I brought in June for around £1,600. As of now it is around £2,000. Sovereigns are usually a great coin to stack because the premiums are usually the lowest out of all the variant coins meaning it's very liquid. If you've got special designs you can sell them at coin fares with a chunky premium on top, if the right buyer is there.

That's the worst part of stacking, is knowing that at some point you actually have to sell some of it to enjoy your gains.
Personally, my stack is the foundation of my wealth and gives me confidence to make other riskier trades/investments. As screwy and ridiculous as this country gets while it circles the drain, nothing else makes sense other than my stack.
