From a strictly business-oriented point of view, Tesla stocks are a great investment.
Yes, they fall a lot, and could potentially fall even more. But Tesla is still hands down the best electric car company on the planet. Not only this, but they are investing in the energy sector.
Tesla stocks lost value because they were way too over-evaluated (something that Americans like to do, just look at fucking apple for example), there was no way that Tesla was worth more than all north American car companies combined, but "it was". Now they are close to the real value, not some retarded fairy tale.

IDK if you guys realize how fucking disastrous the two job prints this morning were and it's a miracle S&P is only down like 1% so far. ADP came up 50%(!) above expectations, that means we added 50% more private sector jobs in december than anyone thought. And weekly jobless was 20k light. The economy is still red hot and the fed is going to continue to be insensitive to easing inflation until everyone's finally unemployed. It's free money shorting here.

lol.
other automakers have a 4% profit margin
Tesla has 18-20%
Tesla has $2 billion in debt
every other auto maker already has $60 billion plus in debt
>yeah well, they'll take on more debt, and ramp up their production, as they really want their 4% profit margin!!
No.
No they won't.
Tesla is still extremely overvalued at $360+ billion market cap
You should argue from this perspective, not from
>other automakers are going to outcompete Tesla in the electric vehicle space, just watch, you'll see!!
as this is completely retarded, and not going to happen
for example, this is the Chevy bolt
>pic related
This car is going to outcompete Tesla!!! Everyone will drive the Chevy bolt rather than a Tesla!!!
Look how nice this car is!!!
this is you.
No.
Not going to happen.
You need to think about it from the automakers perspective
are they going to expand aggressively, take on more debt, into something where they have a 4% profit margin?
No.
Tesla will outcompete, have a lower price for a better car, with worldwide production
again, they only have $2 billion in debt
they can do whatever the fuck they want to expand
$2 billion in debt with a 20% profit margin
and again, they are still extremely overvalued, and the share price will drop another 30%+ from here
but that is due to them being overvalued, not because other automakers are going to compete in the EV space
Pro-tip: They can't

Wayfair is going out of business as well. So Bloodbath and Beyond and Wayfair go out of business - who scoops up all that market share? Amazon will get some, no doubt, but who else operates in the home vertical that will stand to scoop up some of that revenue?

Wayfair's revenue is ~13$bn and BBY's is ~7$bn. That is 20$bn in revenue up for grabs and hit has to go to someone. If AMZN scoops some up, it wont move the needle since they are so big already. But what about that one stock thats been around for 20 years and never went out of business?

people with a Tesla have their own garage, where they never have to go a gas station (unless they're making a very long distance trip)
they can fuel their car from the comfort of their home
and if they do need to fuel up somewhere on a long trip, it takes 15 minutes..

lol - keep telling yourself that
everyone wants to buy an electric car. go look up surveys done on
>How likely is it the next car you purchase is an EV
>How likely is it that you buy an EV
you'll be surprised at the percentages - you should really research it yourself, instead of taking my word for it
for example:
>Some 37% of premium vehicle owners indicate they are 'very likely' to consider an EV for their next purchase
and this is a world wide phenomenon
for example, Tesla just broke a record that has been held in Norway since 1969

That’s exactly what I’m telling you, make small not minimum payments, but significant payments to pay it off in 2 or 3 billing cycles while using your excess cash to add to your savings/cash reserves while still making comfortable payments to pay it off. The cash you have on hand is always better than fully paying it off debt that small. Use it for unexpected expenses or large purchases only while you can’t still be building your cash reserves. The interest you will pay on that will be minimal compared to having a cash reserve on hand, while still building your business credit.

>Tesla's core demographics are environmental types. There is very little overlap between those and conservatives.
83% of tesla drivers are male
70% are under the age of 34
median household income $85K
You are trying to argue to me that Tesla has now alienated its customer base permanently, that this will never blow over
What I am trying to argue to you is that it literally doesn't matter
Liberals that freak out over Elon on Twitter are not the demographic of Tesla buyers
and even if they were, it would still blow over.. time heals all wounds..

it's both a luxury status symbol as well as the first to market
comparing a Tesla to a Blackberry is a joke
it's an iPhone, anon
and iPhone is the most dominant phone in the whole world.. even if you think Apple products are a joke..

>The fed does not want people working.
They want workers to have less leverage over employers. Right now there are worker shortages. That means that workers can demand higher wages and therefore push companies to raise prices. NEET destruction is actually a goal of the Fed. If people are forced to go out and take any job they can find it means that employers don't need to raise wages and therefore don't need to raise prices.

You should only ever burn hardwoods, oak hickory maple. More BTUs and safer.

Tesla will never make the cybertruck. Even if they do, it will fail. It's not a good truck, simple as.
I live in a very EV prevalent area, the audi Etron and lightning have completely replaced the tesla. My local Ford dealer hasn't been able to keep lightnings in stock, even with a $25k markup.
It's simple. People like purpose built tools. If they want a truck, they'll get a real truck. If they want a luxury car, they'll get a real luxury car.
Seriously, the amount of lightnings I see on a daily basis is unreal. I pass a half dozen every morning at the private school drop off.

I'm going to remember you said that.
GM, Ford, and to a lesser extent Chrysler-Fiat are all investing heavily in Electric car lines and have the capital to eat a short term loss and make up those gains. The Japanese appear to be waiting for cheaper/more efficient battery tech to actually enter the ring.
Tesla will remain a major name in EVs, but their time being dominant in terms of Market Share is running out. Ford beat their Cybertruck to the punch witu their own full electric truck and GM is going hard in a full platform for multiple lines.

We'll see
More important than just whether the other automakers are producing EVs that compete with Tesla in "quality" is whether they can produce the EVs
>at a lower price than Tesla can with a sustainable profit margin
for example, the Ford F-150 lightning runs for $56k starting up to $97k
They will never be able to get a 20% profit margin
I do not see them being able to sustain their lines at a 4% profit margin
and I do not see them investing huge money into the space to increase their economies of scale to improve this very weak margin
Tesla has such a crazy advantage in this regard, that I do not see them being outcompeted, ever

With continuing oil issues and public opinion shifting with the transition from Gen X and Boomers to Millennials and Gen Z, and Tesla's success proving that the market is rich and there is great demand, most of the big boys are using their existing factories, capital, and distribution chains to cash in. Another anon pointed out how the F-150 lightning is already a major seller in the US, and with the chassis and most internals aside from power train and engine being the same as their existing F-150s, most of their investment costs are just in the electric power system instead of the engine. This on top of the fact that thousands of Ford dealers and distribution lines already exist put them on par with Tesla that has limited dealerships. Add to that GM's aggressive plan to market a variety of their popular name brands with fully electric options (and potentially offering fleets of electric cars for cheap to corporate customers, since the lines to do so already exist), and the days of seeing Tesla with a 90%+ Market share on EVs are over.

Tesla won't die, but they will shrink

>Tesla won't die, but they will shrink
let's say that they have 90% dominance of the EV market selling 1 million a year with 20% profit margin
compared to 50 million a year with a 20% profit margin, but only 35% market share (comparing it to iPhone market share)
which is better?
I am not denying that their market share % will go down.. but does it really matter, if they are still the 'dominant' vehicle

>> No.53146358

We will have to see if they can remain domimant against the giants. I believe they've already lost the Electric Truck market for certain. Hummer is going to be a wild card, but when Luxury brands like Cadillac and Lincoln start rolling out their EV lines, and SUVs like the Escalade and Suburban get their EV counterparts, The Tesla model X and model S will both have severe competition from recognized brands. The Model 3, I think, will remain a staple for a time, but the second Toyota and Honda decide to make the leap and we see Electric Camrys, Corollas and Civics, 3 sales will drop.
