Older gens just don't get it and there is nothing you can do in my experience to make them understand. Not having a job is seen as bad. Period. I deal with the same shit with my in-laws.
They see me as a failure or a lazy shit because I quit my full-time position. They don't even seem to notice that I took care of their daughter for the last several years while she doesn't work at all. That evidence means nothing, all that matters is that I don't wake up and work 8-6 like they did.
