It's partially staffing but not so much anymore, it's mostly because the owner just has interest doing much of anything but can't afford to close the business. So I'm stuck in purgatory, running a shit business, but I'm also still getting paid so it's meh. I have also lost any dignity and pride I used to have because of the owner. So my heart isn't in it anymore. But we can't even lose our largest account because the standard in the workforce is so low that even they don't bitch. So it's like what's the point of quitting? I also care about the kids working for me. The newest guy I just hired came from a broken home. Mom was a drug user, and her boyfriend was a drunk and a crack head. When he was like 16 or 17, he caught his mom's boyfriend choking his mother out while he was tweaked out so he ended up grabbing a machete and cutting off the guys arm, no joke, there were police reports supporting it. He did 2.5 years for it because he was a minor and because he was defending his mom. Then he got out, got into drugs, and took the police on a high speed chase, attacked a police officer, and broke a police officers arm. So now he has to wear a tether and has to go to see a judge this week. Nobody will hire the kid for obvious reasons but I will because lol why not? He's a good kid that wants to keep his nose clean but needs a job to pay off all the court fees. Hes very respectful and militant about his work. All my employees have come from terrible childhoods so I'm just keeping the business alive to basically help them at this point.

He's on AA and NA. He's taking this very seriously. Basically the judge and prosecutor have pretty much told him that if he fucks up again he's doing life. He's pretty terrified. I would never hang out with any of my employees ever desu. I also live 40 minutes away from all of them so they wouldn't want to anyway. The crew all know each other and grew up in east Detroit. Very hard lives and they all just want to live peaceful lives now that they are all on their own and out of the ghetto.
