Repost from last thread:
Can any UK anon clarify how the CGT annual allowance works? I've been only looking at sovereigns and Britannias which are CGT exempt because of this, but could I actually buy say some decent size gold bars which have lower premiums and indeed sell up to £12,300 worth a year afterwards before having to pay any CGT on it?

Did I stack wrong anons?
>~$2500 in key date Morgan’s/others
>70 or so silver eagles (avg $34)
>50 foreign country coins (maples, britannias, kangaroos)
The rest is constitutional, probably 250+ Morgan’s and peace dollars
Big bags of every type of half dollar
Lots of them great condition but didn’t overpay

$20,000+ total, mostly constitutional.
Should I just leave it how it is, or should I sell/trade some to get more rounds? (I’d sell the silver eagles if so)
I think it’s better to have constitutional but any opinions accepted :)

A legit coin shop will either test with a device called a Sigma Analyzer or an XRF scanner. You can buy one of those machines yourse lf but they're very expensive. A Sigma costs about $800, an XRF scanner about $15,000. Sigma testers detect electromagnetic frequency while an XRF is basically a miniature xray
They aren't going to give a paper or anything, likely just test it in front of you and tell you if it's real or not.
Nitric acid tests are faulty, they only check the surface and pretty much any fake bullion will be plated in real gold/silver

Yes, you fucked up. If you can manage to break even on those and buy generic rounds or Brittanias something at a lower price and a higher quantity then I would do that.

This might not be the thread to ask something like this but.

Where can I buy/exchange cash for physical Russian rubles?

The bank won’t do it anymore.

If you're in a State that has sanctioned Russia, forget about it, if you wanted Russian Roubles, you should've bought them before the war.
Besides, when Russia implements a Gold backed Rouble they'll probably demonetize all current banknotes and ban foreigners from redeeming for Gold.

Imagine other CEXes also have it available. As the other guys have said: can't you save by buying PMs? I know silver has a high premium but gold only has 2-5% premium and if you're gonna wait 3-5 years before buying your land the cash you have saved will have lost a lot of value.

Gold and silver will at least keep up with inflation so the money you saved won't lose value.

Are you new here? The precious metals market is rigged to prop up the dollar, and that's why a lot of us stack in the first place. Nobody here gives a pissing shit if it goes up a buck because nobody is going to "take profits" from "trading" physical precious metals like it's some shitcoin. And if you're trying to bait, you should especially understand that not one boomer here gives a pissing shit if the price goes down because we'll just buy more and more and more until either the dollar itself dies (as all fiats inevitably do) or we die and pass it on to our children.

Owning physical precious metals would be too much of a headache for me for a good while, 3+ years ahead. I'm kinda poor, live in a 3rd world shithole, rent a bedroom that is temporary in a lodging etc. Hiding it and bringing it around would be too big of a problem for me.

Meanwhile I'm trying to improve my portfolio performance with those ETFs. But things are getting spooky when it comes to precious metals, the US government don't seem to want people and most businesses owning them and this recent depletion can be connected to that. Idk what could happen to those ETFs. One middleway possibility would be that they'd indirectly force them to close, but then I'd get the value in dollars in my account, could be only more of a problem if that would happen right during a precious metals crash.

You seem to have the basic idea. You don't pay CGT when you buy, but when you sell, you do if the liable items are above the threshold. The fact that bars have a lower premium is not strongly relevant because you will receive that premium back when you sell. Compare buying and selling prices, then buy sovs anyway because they're the most flexible.

I think SETF got its start on pol, and the consistent deletion by jannies caused a Streisand effect.
For those who don't know, SETF stands for Silver Ends The Fed, and the basic premise is that the dollar is propped up by the manipulation of precious metals, chiefly silver. The conclusion is that a short squeeze on silver would lead to a spike in interest rates and bond yield, popping the debt market hyper bubble and crashing the entire financial system.
Considering that manipulation of precious metals has been proven in court multiple times, I think these things stand a good chance of being true.

I finally went to a coin store in person today
It was very awkward in between my stuttering and the boomers there not being very talkative
Usually the boomers I buy from at flea markets are extremely social and I've talked with them for 30 minutes.
I will still go back but perhaps not alone. To make it less awkward.

No idea. They pop up on eBay is you look for sexy silver or japanese girl 1oz. I don’t know when it was minted or how many. So it might have shitty premiums for a 1oz.

Check out the Argentia 10 oz bars for other nice lady silver.

SETF is bullshit. The only thing is good for us redpilling ppl about the fed, but the entire "if we buy all the silver the fed will collapse" is some qtard my pillow bullshit. But PMs if you like them. They are a good hedge on the sense that they will never go to zero, but it's not an investment, it's not a moon shot, and it's certainly not a fucking revolution.

SETF is right though, they could literally inflate the housing and everything bubble continuously for a way longer period of time (decades) until nobody would own nothing. The only thing that is putting a stop to that is people buying up all the physical silver out there.
All currency is created when a loan is taken to buy something (a house, a car, etc). When some dumb normie is taking some loan for a house he's giving away 30+ years worth of currency (that needs to be paid back with interest) instantly to someone who might decide to buy up physical silver to drain the comex. Guess how many people out there are needed to do achieve this (hint: it's unbelievable small).
They have to put a stop to this, under no circumstance they're allowed to lose the power of the paper currency printer, once it's gone, they might even lose it for at least the next 100 years if silver gains momentum in becoming used for transactions between individuals. Silver is literally money and people who use it as money will show how way better off they are compared to those who don't use it. This idea of using silver will definitely spread and more and more people will start using it as money so they become better off too. This is what they fear the most and SETF shows you why and how that works.

>people buying up all the physical silver
Will only drive up premiums.
If you consider that the price of silver is kept artificially low with inflated amounts of digital silver, the vast majority and volume of transactions are done by people and organisations that have no interest in claiming their share of physical metal. Even if these whales are not trading digital silver to keep the price low for whatever reason, but for investment, they are probably still not even interested in getting a physical stack, because trading it digitally is infinitely easier.
A silver squeeze will mainly affect the physical silver market for private citizens and bullion dealers, resulting in higher premiums, but this will barely be reflected by the silver spot price. Inversely, the silver spot price does affect what you pay for physical silver, but it has become apparent that during scarcity, it just means premiums goes up, while spot price continues to be affected by market manipulation.
