It’s a store of value not a speculative investment. An ounce of gold or silver will always just be that. They will massively underperform risky assets like stocks. They will never have and yield and literally nobody ever has or ever will get rich from holding them. They are a SHTF portable safe haven. More so gold than silver cause silver is practically worthless by weight and volume compared to gold.

Metals will always be the worst asset class, always have been and always will be. They will always be worth something though and that’s what you are investing in with metals.
