this is indeed the only chart that matters in relation to gold. goldheads who look at the value in USD are completely missing the entire point, just like bitcoiners who look at the value on their BTC in usd. a couple fundamental conclusions are missing from their understanding like a 6 piece puzzle with 4 pieces missing but still claiming they can see the entire picture.

gold is one asset. it has specific uses, and performs well under specific conditions: brief periods of economic turmoil which are not catastrophic but neither completely unimportant. that is all. no, gold will not be a safe haven if the entire world goes into chaos, it would be a gimmick. this is a crucial thing to understand to prevent mindless emotional attachment to just a single asset.

if you are crazy about stacking gold and silver and thats all, please consider the opportunity cost you forgo each year. 8% a year in the markets? 10%? this isnt some small figure you should push to the back of your brain, this is the "hidden" cost of holding rocks

Gold is one of the worst speculative assets in existence because it is so widely held, easily produced and has been stored for centuries. Gold is an absolutely terrible “investment” as it produces nothing. It does not grow, it does not have a yield.

Gold is a dense and highly liquid store of wealth. That is all it ever has been or ever will be. Gold and silver are real money. You can take a few ounces of gold anywhere in the world and trade it for things, maybe you trade it for a bunch of local currency and spend that on things idk.

An ounce of gold today will be an ounce of gold in a hundred years and it will be worth something. Worth more than its equivalent currency had you held it in all of recorded history while costing you nothing inherently to hold it unlike land which you must pay taxes on at least if not also maintain in some way.

Gold doesn’t perform you fucking retard. Gold is just gold. Gold is money, gold is REAL SAVINGS. A gold ounce 5,000 years ago is that same ounce of gold today. Nothing has changed. Valuing gold in terms of dollars is retarded. It was fucking gold that gave value to the dollar.

Also gold is STORED ENERGY. That is why it’s so fucking valuable. Comparing gold and bitcoin is retarded. They have nothing to do with each other. Zoomer and millennial professional favors say… muh gold is the next gold. No. The only reason you faggots are buying crypto is because you can’t “make it” anymore BECAUSE we went off a gold standard. If we were still on a gold standard, or rather if all of you were born in 1943 you’d all have 3 kids at least by 1970 with a typical job with a wife raising them and you would have easily “made it” under a gold standard because the dollar had value. If you gave me the option right now where I could have 50 million dollars investing in some dog cum coin in 2023 where everything is fake and gay and local communites are completely fucked where you don’t even see kids outside anymore playing…. Or I could go back in time to 1959 and have a typical po dunk job with a family and a house in a thriving community. I’d take the latter all day everyday.

The primary function of money is to MEASURE VALUE. Money is a barometer to measure value. Gold is what measures value best. Not dollars. Gold and silver are exchanged over a lifetime or longer. You don't buy them in one year and flip them the next. You accumulate ounces over time. You can sell of hard assets into liquidity at the right time for the right reasons. If this doesn't make sense to you then I recommend $lunc on FTX.

Gold just sort of is. It is really good at just being, sitting there, being. Doesn't give you dividends, but it really is, you know, there. The uninitiated usually are not prepared for the presence, for the sheer being, of gold. They may be overpowered and let the gold be, never disturb it, to their dying day just leaving it be. It was before, is now and shall be afterwards. Doesn't do much though.

There are no threads telling anyone to buy gold yet I've seen dozens of no effort threads shitting on gold. pmg and cmmg stick to themselves and don't shill, why would gold hoarders need biz to pump their bags? The largest purchasers lately are not retail but central banks. Buy gold or don't, I don't care but know that these very inorganic threads reek of a desperation that is difficult to describe.
