I usually try to buy items that arent wrapped in plastic and/or contain too much seed oils. I buy meat from the local butcher and bread from the local bakery or make it myself. But even if you buy plastic wrapped products that contain seed oils its infinitely better than getting food from a restaurant because the way they treat/prepare your food is just revolting.

They want someone they can walk all over and ask for more, I feel. Or you might want more compensation since you have more knowledge/expertise/experience, or other underlying reasons.
Someone that can be pushed around easier and will take the abuse since they have a lot less options. (Of course, the job market is fucking awful and only gets worse as in general there's importing replacements rather than paying more and it needs to fall apart for a chance for things to get better, and if you are applying for such a job you might not have the ability to walk out like they think you could, but that's just a gut feeling on some of this).
