it's pretty sad that every scaling solution that seemed hopeful back in 2016 has failed. ETH has fallen back on the old EOS model for scaling rather than accept the new multi-chain paradigm.
The level of stagnation at EF is ridiculous. It has to be more than just technical debt that's holding them back. I think the established MEV rent-seekers are too comfortable with the current state of things that they've coerced the left-over NPC devs (free-thinking devs all left for non-stagnant projects) to keep everything status-quo as possible.
