Yes, but that's the point. The FED authorized the printing of tethers because it backs the cash. Then shakeouts like right now are orchestrated so that govt can rebuy BTC with USDT at a lower price, and gain more control over it. Moreover, these guys are helping their wall-street buddies who are shorting BTC.

BTC won't die anytime soon. But more and more ownership of it is finding its way in the hands of the very centralized powers BTC was created to avoid.
