The worst thing about being poor is having your mother complain every month about not having it as good as other mums. It’s like I’m trying but I can’t be throwing my money on holidays and kitchen renos I need to invest that shit. It’s actually kinda depressing if I do every make it (unlikely) my mum will be long dead by then and at that point the money is worthless.

That's what I'm saying. So get lucky and you profit off your investment? What do you do next? Your whole family is dead from COVID. Your kids no longer speak to you. Your taxes keep increasing every year. Your government wants to switch to CBDCs.

If you listen to her you will forever be poor and that mindset is likely why you and your family are in the position they're in.

You're not wrong. I almost gave up multiple times, yet I always pull through in the end. You just need a purpose. A purpose that will make you feel alive and young again.

This. Love your mother and treat her thoughts on money as you would any other women.
