Just started Google ads for a business I made a website for, I don’t know a lot about search engine marketing. Does /biz/ have a recommended resource to learn the most about PPC ads and how to get the most bang for buck or is it just YouTube learning like everything else nowadays?

I work in AdTech, I'd advise you stay away from search and go with a better, more targeted, approach.
If you know what your target audience is comprised of, your money would be better spent on Facebook or Instagram or SnapChat.
That all relies on you knowing who you're targeting.
Alternatively, you can pay for a DMP and do direct deals through GAM if that's what you're into.

Those PMax google campaigns work fine for me, just write up good ad content/headlines, have great pictures/videos and the magic google algorhytm shall find yer buyers.
As anon mentions here >>53051527
knowing your audience(s) is key.

However, what are the acronyms "DMP" and "GAM" please?

>DMP
That's a data management platform. I work on one of those, basically they classify your traffic. In other words, you'll know what part of your traffic is made up of men... or women or what age they are, what sort of disposable income you can expect, whether or not they like shoes, etc.
>GAM
That's Google Ad Manager. Basically a way to make the aforementioned labels useful. Those labels in and of themselves are not worth shit, but collect a bunch of similar profiles (users) in the same set (we call that an audience) and then you can show them the ads that are the most relevant to them. Like create a set of people who are interested in Gucci Handbags and have a disposable income >100k (you can fine-tune this to just people who are "advocates" for the brand) and just show them your offer. If you have multiple domains, you can use GAM to target them across and manage your inventory like that.
It's a whole world of shit you signed yourself up to, but I hope this brief overview helps.
