Credit cards are based. I regret that I only started building credit at age 26. I had always just been told that debt is bad, and debt certainly is bad, but the rewards on credit cards can be harnessed and let you keep more money in your pocket every month while paying no interest.

How many credit cards do you have? What are your favorites? What categories would you like to find a new card for?

Well if you're carrying a balance then of course you're throwing money away. If you use it like a debit card and pay the whole thing off every month, you're just collecting cash back as free money.

is it realistic to use my $60k credit limit to buy a Rolex explorer II and 30 1oz gold coins and then leave america. I also have ~$250k in BTC and make $100k per year paid in USDC

Chase Freedom Flex or Freedom Unlimited. They're very similar, except Flex also gives you 5% back in rotating categories that change every quarter. Unlimited doesn't do that, but gives you a flat 1.5% back on everything outside of the 3% dining and drugstore purchases, which both cards offer.

Downgrade the cards with fees next year, free bonuses. I probably spend beyond my means a pinch though as of late but I'm depressed and make good enough money. I'd like to close one of the chase cards but don't want to since it adds to my age of credit. Thoughts?

Ahh. So the doublecash is still superior for thoughtless 2% on everything if you don't feel like min/maxing categories and swapping cards for specific merchant types.

>> No.53033327

>>53033264
It'll stay on your report for ten years after you close it so it won't affect you immediately. It will reduce the amount of credit you have which will increase your utilization. Why do you want to close a Chase card? Does one have an annual fee, or do you want to get the sign-up bonus again?

Yeah, 2% is about the best you can do if you just want to deal with one card. I actually think I've heard of a credit union that has a 2.5% card, but I believe you have to have your checking through them and meet a few requirements there. But basically yes, if you only want to deal with one card, that's your best bet.

I currently use a Amex Gold as my main card, with a discover card and a chase freedom unlimited as my secondaries. I was primarily using the discover for those secondary purchases until i realized i can get an extra .5% cash back with chase. My question is, considering i already am in the Amex points system and most of my purchases are with an amex card, does it make sense to get any other card as my secondary?

I personally don't focus on points myself, but if you find yourself frequently transferring your points to other travel partners, if there's another company that has the same airline or hotel chain as a travel partner, you can use your points from both cards.

paypal theres an option to "Pay Bills". there you can chose your method of payment. they allow you to pay with debit card or bank account. You essentially need to add your credit card bill as you would any other bill

the payments do take 2-3 business days and there is no automatic payment option so you need to stay on top of it

They key to credit card use is to pay it off in full every time you get a bill. Cash back is a bonus, but it's secondary.

I got the $200 offer from BoA and also the double offer from Discover and am making them pay me $700. I hate credit card companies they profit off of people's misery and stupidity and I want to legally fleece them out of as much as possible. I'm relatively new to CCs can you guys suggest any other card offers? Or is there a limit to how many times I can do this? Sorry for noob questions no one ever taught me this stuff.

Credit card companies do notice you churning cards and they will deny you for new cards for high velocity. Basically you need to wait a while between cards. And different companies have different rules. I think with most Chase cards, you can get the card and the sign-up bonus, wait two years and cancel the card, and then get it again for another sign-up bonus. But American Express only allows you to earn one sign-up bonus per card for life. And if you ever cancel a card within a year of getting it, they'll probably blacklist you. So if the card doesn't have an annual fee, keep it open forever unless you have a good reason not to.

If you're new and have two cards right now, you should probably wait a while before applying for anything else. But Citi Custom Cash is a good option. You get a sign up bonus with it too of course, but it gives you 5% back in whatever category you use the card most during that month. So if you only use it on gas for example, 5% back on gas.

>> No.53034477

How do you spend more on a CC to get the rewards then turn around and get cash from spending to pay it off?

most prepaid cards don't allow cash advances and money orders charge fees

Anything you do in your 20s isn't "late."
You're barely an adult.
The only people who think otherwise are people also in their 20s. And nobody really gives a shit what 20-somethings think.

Live your life by your own timeframes.
Don't worry about what other people think.
