Hes right, for most people, yes
Compare society today to 80 years ago
Today we more abundance in cheap products and services
And it’s only going to be more abundant
Exponentially so

People have a hard time grasping the leap in technological innovation we are about to experience
The main issues in the future will be concerning ‘finding meaning in life’, because all your basic needs (food shelter leisure etc) will all be near zero cost, or at least trending towards zero, exponentially so.

The world is about to get a whole lot better yet the majority are still pessimistic about the future

the majority, low-mid iq, poor/middle class, mediocre, uneducated/uninformed people are pessimistic and constantly complain about how unfair society/the system is.

>> No.53030771

the people who used to be poor, but are now rich, accomplished this because they had a optimistic mindset.

He isn't completely wrong, but things could obviously have been better.
For instance having running water and a toilet in your house was considered a luxury not that long ago and still is in some parts of the world.. still those things were considered a luxury in the west and only available for the upper class whereas today everybody has access to such amenities provided you are not some drug user in California.
However we should have been way better off considering that productivity has gone up by a lot in terms of for instance construction where new tools and methods have become available and still the prices have gone up etc.
So old boomerfaggot is right, but also wrong.

I had a conversation with a friend recently regarding humans relationship with technology/materialism and spirituality.
I believe this 'phase' in which we are in (gov't corruption, wars, inequality, WEF, etc) is temporary, and that the information age (+combined with the 4th industrial revolution), will bring about a new age of 'spirituality and material abundance.

I believe we are in the beginning phases of a 'golden era', where spirituality and materialism begin to merge. There is still alot of darkness in the world, but it's starting to fade off.
I think society is becoming increasingly aware of the dangers of moving away from spirituality, in this increasingly technological/material world.

You are right.
From my point of view, this phase of social decohesion, community disconnection, etc is only temporary.
I believe it is temporary, since we are the first 'wave' of humans to go through such a rapid progression of technology. Thus, we don't quite know how to 'handle' it. We spend too much time on our devices, and don't exercise/socialize enough.
We are suffering because of this, with depression, obesity, disconnection from family/friends, anxiety, etc, etc.
We are like 'beginners' in this new fast-moving technological abundant world, because we have simply never experienced it as a society.
We will learn and find ways to 'reconnect' with each other, community, etc, because our suffering will force us to do so.

We humans will find solutions to our suffering. We always have. This is my view.

The 50s-60s we're a 'golden' period of the US, given demographic boom, WW2 victory, and the boom in industrialization (factories/mass-production of goods).
So comparing now to then is a bit, 'unfair and biased'.
Society progression happens in waves. We have sort of been in a 'down-wave' since the 70's, when the US entered the fiat system.
However, I see signs an upcoming 'up-wave' that will be the result of the information age + 4th industrial revolution.

Not exactly. This is typical bullshit boomer cope.

We have more amazing technology now, but it's isolated many of us, and many more weird as fuck. Community and brotherhood in the American people is basically ruined. To say nothing of the heavy influx of immigrants who are here on H1B or illegally who don't care about our ways, so much as the money they can get out of our system.

Housing is fucked. Corporations and wealthy foreigners are allowed to buy up homes that should go to the common man instead.

Overall value in products has declined immensely. Your grandparents and great grandparents bought some quality shit that lasted generations, but that didn't rub capitalists right who wanted to mass produce cheap plastic trash that people would have to buy multiple times to boost profits.

Sure we don't die of stupid shit like undercooked meat, or moldy potatoes, or tuberculosis, but that means little when overall quality of American life has declined, just so faggot ass boomer scum like Munger (who sold our country out to our enemies) can have more money they don't need.

of course, the classic idiot who thinks techonolgy only depends on some nerds in a facility
The price of brics and steel beams have only increased since the new millenia, things that existed long before the ww1 now are more expensive than ever were. Why do you think every piece of technology will follow the same path of cellphones and computers? if that were the case, every family would have a mini helicopter by now. Not even commies eat that shit.

Not just sovereign individuals.
True innovation, the baseline will move up for everyone.
Technology and innovation increases the size of the entire pie, not just for for the elite/those at the top, for those at the bottom as well.
Wealth inequality widening is actually a indicator a country is developing and further progressing. The more developed, advanced and prosperous a country becomes - the wider the wealth inequality - this is simply a natural phenomena that occurs since most innovation/breakthroughs are accomplished by a small group of individuals who reap most of the benefits.
When a new technology arises, a small group of individuals reap most of the rewards, because they provided society with something useful or that raised people’s living standards, so these inventors/Founders deserve it and are more incentivized to innovate with these incentives.

Wealth inequality, to me, is an indication that society is thriving.
Historically, major technological breakthroughs have deepened inequality, most don’t realize that wealth inequality is actually a ‘healthy’ indicator.

The wealth inequality I speak about is a result of technological innovation, which is healthy and good for society as a whole. The baseline living standard/livelihood of each citizen increases from innovation, which ultimately causes wealth inequality.

The wealth inequality most people think about is - how government inflates our real wages, thus making it almost impossible to build a life with a normal job. It’s different from the wealth inequality that is caused by innovation.

A planet with 10 people.
Bob is the smartest/most gifted one.
Bob invents the ‘shovel’.
Bob sells shovel to 9 other people.
Shovel helps 9 people increase productivity, farm more food, etc.
Bob becomes wealthiest person on planet by inventing and selling shovels.
9 people start complaining about how BOB has it so much better than they do. 9 people resent Bob because he is richer than them.
9 people’s lives are still 2x better because of the the shovel.

Does any of this sound familiar in today’s world?

Agreed.
The future of the world is everything becomes localized.
Energy production, food production, small businesses. I hope the world moves away from globalization, and into more regional/localized businesses/industries.

I believe technology and innovation will allow for localized/regional production of foods/products to once again become economically viable.
Covid showed us the dangers of being too 'globalized'. The world realized we need to revert back to regional/localized industries. This will be achieved with the help of technology and innovation, which will allow the average joe to harness his own energy, food, water, etc on a more regional/localized scale.
