Interest rates are going back down in 1 year/early 2024. Why wouldn't I buy in late 2023?

>> No.53006177

The first dump was when the fed raised interest rates 50bps in 2017-2018. We've gone up 375bps since March 2022, still a lot further to go before buying.

Too late. Sales have dropped off a cliff and prices will soon follow. Should have done this 10 years ago.

Fuck no. Do you know how fucked all those covid lock down buyers are going to be? The market will be flooded with these retards once they have to remortgage. Most of them can barely keep their heads above water with the increase in inflation let alone eat a 6% increase in rates.

>Historically high interest rates
>Historically high real estate prices

Lmao, what a great idea. Buy at the top with the most expensive financing....

I'm selling my piece of shit property in Oakville before the whole thing comes crashing down.

I feel like we need to start a Brampton Loan scheme and foreclose stupid immigrants when they cant afford their mortgage

You don't understand how bearish this is. The leaf housing market is 100% sustained from importing wealthy Chinks/jeets. Canadians themselves have zero productive economy to support this insane housing market and virtually zero natural born citizens are actually buying. It's safe to say that the Canadian housing market isn't even Canadian at this point.

What do you think will happen when foreign Beijing money determines that Canadian real estate is no monger worthwhile and they pull their funds? The leaf housing bubble pop will be more biblical than dot com.

As if that's happening. The government relies on expensive housing prices for collecting obscene taxes. Plus they keep unloading loads of immigrants here every year. Housing doesn't crash in places that have tons of buying demand. There's a massive housing shortage in Toronto and unless you want to live in some piece of shit condo, there's not much supply. It's not Bitcoin. Real estate has real utility. Toronto is no different than London or New York

I wouldn't be investing in Canadian real estate if I were you.
