>banking jobs in Western Europe pay you on average $18/hr
>supermarkets like Aldi/Lidl/Carrefour or Amazon pays $18/hr to move boxes around

Why the fuck would someone waste 5 years of their life to get a Masters degree just to earn the same as someone that hasn't even passed high school and moves boxes in some warehouse? Europe is a joke im moving out of this shithole ASAP.

Economics and finance is kike pseudoscientific garbage, have you ever spoken with a person with a finance degree? They're literally peak reddit midwits so they deserve getting paid like a supermarket worker, atleast supermarket workers contribute to society unlike finance parasites

It's not the issue with Europe its the issue with saturated white collar jobs.

Im not talking about some midwit bank clerk position where you help people open a bank account and just fill some forms all day. I am talking about high mid- and backoffice positions were you are responsible for credit portfolios that range from 9 to 10 figures and you have to analyse the financials of big corporations. You need extensive knowledge of accounting, business law, financial mathematics, tax law and corporate law to do these jobs, and they pay absolute shit. In the US you would easily earn 110k-130k straight out of college as an analyst.

Who gives a shit about mid and backoffice? They're clerks too, only front office can be called actual "finance"

>and you have to analyse the financials of big corporations
Big 4 monkeys can do that

Based. Economics isn’t a real field of study it’s all psyops to trick people into thinking corporations are actually a benefit to society and that billionaires are good at for the economy.

Front office is dead retard thanks to online banking and remote work. Also IB is dying after the SPAC bubble popped and equities are getting rekt thanks to the FED.

>anon doesn't realize the extent of GFC and eurozone crisis still lingers in the financial plumbing of EU

NGMI, you should've learn how to code and weld but instead you learned IFRS, NAV, WACC, FIFO/LIFO, GAAP, CFA "ethical guidelines" and some other useless mumbo jumbo that only few people outside of finance sphere comprehend. Basically unemployable to be a frugal wagie.

You guys are about to find out that economics is a pretty straightforward and simple discipline that people warped and obfuscated in order to rob you and your cohort.
This happens every single time. The easy money is not over, the 'loose' financial conditions are not a thing of the past. The dollar as you know it is about to get crushed in order to 'repay' debt from two generations of partying in the wake of the creation of the Federal Reserve.
This is what happens every single time.

Europe has a lower cost of living does it not? Also, it is beautiful aesthetically. Many parts of the US are just big box stores and urban decay.

If you finish secondary school in Germany you can make 4-6k a month. "bankers" are mostly school drop outs that end up at a business school.

IB is a cyclical business and 2021 was the best year since the financial crisis in terms of fees. Global private equity dry powder is approaching $2 trillion and financial sponsors will need to invest that capital - which will go directly in private markets M&A and contribute to sweet sweet IB fees. Sponsors are feeling a bit hesitant given the turmoil in public equities but early stage VC is already picking up (see: Northzone, Speedinvest raising new funds in 3Q22 for pre-seed and seed rounds). Series B, C and up will pick up around 1H23 and the positive macro outlook around that time will convince PE firms to accelerate bolt-on acquisitions to leverage relatively lower valuations compared to 2021 levels. Non-traditional investors like family offices are also using this as an opportunity to invest capital in assets (such as tech) that they previously considered too expensive.

tl;dr: we're so back

replaced by technology banking clerks will soon be a thing of the passed, wait until the boomers are gone and the majority of people will be using apps and the internet for everything, why go to the bank to do something i can do on an app?

as much as I hate boomers, because they're the ones that created this shit for being greedy, they're the only ones left that are protecting us because they're the only ones in position of power. Once they're gone we wont have any power left so (they) can do whatever they want.

The problem is that europe and Germany specially just rapes you with taxes and „social security“, so you end up barely making more per hour than some minimum wage subhuman unless you are making 150k+, and even then the government steals half first.
