You should have a Bittrex account and a Binance account. HitBTC often has good early opportunity as well before they get listed on other exchanges

binance might fuck you a bit on withdrawal fees depending on the coin you withdraw, but it has extremely low trading fees so its a trade-off. it also has top class UI and it adds a lot of coins.

bitfinex is mtgox 2.0 waiting to happen, very shady.

bittrex has a 2 month customer service backlog and they sometimes randomly de-verify people. if you're not verified you can't withdraw. this cusomer support backlog includes queries about verification. do not put anything there unless you are first verified and even then, don't put anything there.

poloniex is old and sturdy but shit UI and has maintenance on wallets super often that blocks withdrawals.

tl;dr: pic related is the only high volume exchange anyone should use. a lot of people have been fleeing from other exchanges to binance over the last months due to problems with them and they are now the highest volume exchange.

Oh yeah and HitBTC is randomly buggy and they might be compromised by hackers if people claiming their accounts were cleaned out and withdrawn from despite 2FA are right.

It's a shame because it has a nice UI, nice account management and adds a lot of newer coins before the higher volume exchanges.
