My multi-millionaire grandfather just got diagnosed with dementia and parkinson's disease, was unable to get out of bed for the last 2 weeks, was shitting his pants, my grandmother had him in adult diapers, after about 2 weeks of being bed ridden the family finally called an ambulance and it was in hospital he got the dementia and parkinson's diagnosis.

He cannot be looked after at his multi-million dollar beach side luxurious home, he will be transported from the hospital to an aged care facility for rehabilitation, doctors think he probably wont ever go back home due to the level of care he needs.

No matter how much we "make it" we can end up shitting in nappies unable to get out of bed in some decades from now. Probably a good idea to not really focus too much on "making it" when you're old, probably should focus on making it when you're young so you can actually enjoy a nice lifestyle in your younger years instead of scrimping and saving until you're an old man to "make it" only to be taken down like this.

I also find it interesting, after 60 years of marriage, my grandmother lasted about 2 weeks changing his diapers, she hated doing it, she couldn't stand it, she wants him in the age cared facility, she says she "just cant do it". Nobody else can do that shit.

So this is also for the polcels who think having a family means you're going to have all this support when you're older and need care, no, you'll most likely have health conditions your family simply cannot deal with, and you will be shoved into a aged care facility just as incels who never had any family will be. Your family aren't trained doctors and nurses who can provide 24/7 care to you at home, and even if they were, they wouldn't want to be changing your shitty diapers.

A good portion of that wealth is about to be burned through on upscale assisted living and out of pocket medical procedures and meds. His greed will ensure that you are left with very little, if not nothing all together once your boomer parents get their hands on it. I already told my family to not put me in hospice or a retirement home or whatever. I don't want to drain their resources, resources that I would have helped build with them throughout my life, on my worthless dieing carcass when I'm 85+. There is zero point in keeping me alive if I have dementia or Alzheimer's or can't take care of myself in the most basic capacities. just have me euthanized, either that or I'm going to end up wandering off a cliff when I feel myself deteriorating and unable to take care of myself

Actually, with our generation it's likely we won't even be offered the dignity of retirement; with how poorly people are compensated for their work nowadays, I won't be surprised to see people only "retire" once they get diagnosed with dementia.

None of his care needs sound too severe, regular carer visits or a 24hour carer can meet those.

If he has nursing needs that may be a different story and end stage Parkinson’s patients nearly all do end up in a nursing home, but that isn’t universal and he doesn’t sound that severe considering his diagnosis was literally two weeks ago.

Look into this OP. No Chinese whispers amongst family members, demand to see the medical opinions written down and get second opinions if you are suspect.
