Dumb argument. Trying to compare price of a single atomic element to all the complex components (made up of lots of different very cheap materials) that are inside a computer.
Your $2k build will be worthless in the future, apart from the gold content of course, because all the other elements that make up your computer cost very little, such as plastic, silicon, copper, steel, so it's not worth extracting to sell. That's why old computers end up in the tip.
