A new coin buyer,
Approaches the store,
He's fresh from Reddit,
Seeking riches galore.

All through the shop,
Are spread gleaming wares,
Marked with eagles and lions,
Fierce tigers and bears.

Symbols of Liberty,
The pride of a nation,
Long dead kings and queens,
Who still guard 'gainst inflation.

A decision is made--
He's looked through them all--
"I'll take the ones,
With the gay concert hall!"

As the total's rung up,
The seller looks smug,
Perhaps he should stock,
Silver gags and butt-plugs.

Just a few weeks later,
It's all over the news,
Silver spot has hit $40,
There's no time to lose.

"I must gather my silver,
It's time to vacation!
Or perhaps profit should go towards,
My AIDS medication."

At the coin store, however,
He'll face a surprise,
The owner's selective,
Of the coins that he buys.

"The spot price? Oh, no sir,
I'm sorry, you see:
If I'm to touch your Weiners,
There's a sizable fee."

Converted to fiat,
And spent in a day,
The impulsive consoomer,
Goes along on his way.

A year or two later,
When shit hits the fan,
He's destitute now,
Living out of a van.

He sucks cock for a living
And he does it with glee--
He's paid in silver,
But would do it for free.

A system explosion, or crash if you will is when the public loses faith in the fiat system. We all know fiat can be printed to infinity, but that doesn't mean people will still use it as a medium of exchange anymore. This is known as a crack up boom.

I've got a nice haul but all of it is currently wrapped up. I got a PF70 reverse proof Silver eagle, a Bicentennial silver proof set, a 2016 limited edition silver proof set, a 2002 silver proof set, and I spent some of my christmas money on the 2021 silver proof set. What can I say, I'm a sucker for proofs.
I also bought my younger brother a poured silver hand in the shape of a thumbs up, it's 1.36 troy ounces and will be his first silver. Hope he appreciates it, that thing had a hefty premium

Debt is future work ppl promise they will do in exchange of work already done + tip.
The debt bubble is when half the planet promised they will work for the next 400 years to pay back for profiteering from the work already done by others.
And the debt bubble burst is when ppl finally figure out you can't pay back 3 lifetimes worth of future work when you are in your 50s.

That's the difference between real asset versus "promises asset" like all the digital trashes and dreams ppl are sold : one is work already done with no counterparty risk -since it already exist- (shiny rock, built house), the other is a "one day maybe..." pipedream (tesla stocks, bonds, shitcoins, and most importantly : cash).

This debt props up real estate. This debt PAYS for the massive trade deficit every year, goods that corporate America leverages into trillions of dollars of GDP, jobs, and taxes.

Maybe there will be some scheme where the banks may be able to prop up the ponzi indefinitely without some catastrophic collapse, but you are I will be stewing in 15% inflation for the rest of our lives while the losses are spread out over everyone. Oh damn I would imagine. Even here in the states where they're abundant silver eagles and morgan dollars both have retarded premiums, certainly not as bad as I would imagine they are in Ireland but they aren't exactly cheap. I think I just paid that little because the shop likes me a lot, I've been called both a "regular" and "not a problem customer"

Really, I'm not kidding when I say US coin collectors are some of the most xenophobic bastards you'll ever meet, they'll pay out the wazoo for the most idiotic retarded commemorative or whatever new morgan dollar slab sticker you can put on but then ignore being able to but an actual Mint State 2,000+ year old Greek Owl coin for only $2k. And premiums merely reflect that isolationist demand. Absolutely insanity.

>>52957318
Big thing is check your states sale tax status on whether it would be better to buy where you live or drive a couple hours over for something cheaper if the taxation is bad enough. Also, if you buy a certain amount at once I believe you have to report it to the IRS which is fucking gay but nothing that can really be done about it other than maybe spend $1-2 grand every other week so you aren't buying in a way that would make the shops think you're committing tax fraud. Generally speaking these places tend to have a lot of libertarian sensibilities so they'll help you out in any legal manner, my place has books on conspiracy theories and AK47's piled up behind the counter.

Not a bad idea to buy some silver eagles due to their ridiculous demand but don't go all-in. Maybe one or two tubes. For gold, buy coins. The premium increase is practically non-existant (like $30-$50 extra on something that cost $1,800+) and it'll be much easier to sell and to identify a counterfeit.

First thing first, you must understand the underlying philosphy, ideology and metaphysics of PMs.
The mandatory watch is Hidden secrets of Money by Maloney :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyV0OfU3-FU&list=PLYd8dzXYV-couMYW4CR9z20Zi6uvptSBG

Once it's done, you can consider your best options. Since you are in the US you basically have access to the cheapest PMs in the world while having the easiest money in the world. On top of having no VAT on metals. Amerimutts don't understand how insanely lucky they are compared to anybody else on the planet. At least when it comes to stacking.

With $15K personally i'd go 10k silver 5k gold. For silver, a split of 5k in 1kg bars + 4k in the cheapest coins availible (coins = issued by gubments' mint with facial value making them legal tender, while rounds = privately issued with no facial value), which ATM will most likely be Austrian's Philharmonic Weiners, Australian's Kangaroos or Armenian's Noah's Arks. And finally 1K in rounds.

About the 5K in gold, it's enough to purchase 2x 1oz coins (Britannias and Weiners have a low premium rn, lower than old gold even) + 2 sovereign coins (old gold minted en masse in Europe from the 1800- early 1900s, weighting 5.80gr of fine gold). French ones are the most popular and cheapest usually (20F or were minted in the billion range, back when France was still a relevant country).

Counterpoint: Greek Owls are the most sovlful coin to ever exist and something handmade that's older than Jesus is way cooler than something machine made and younger than the US civil war. Plus it's not like Morgans are a solved market either, one of the CC Morgan dates (forget which one) was considered the rarest of all Morgans until a big hoard of them was found. I just consider it shitty collector taste, similar to how a lot of US retro video games are retardedly overpriced while the functionally identical Japanese counterparts are still dirt cheap in many cases

>>52957508
Yeah generally better to know a local dealer if you can. Stop by when they don't seem busy and just chat a little bit. Maybe buy a couple of eagles from them so you aren't wasting their time on questions, and you can get a feeling for how much you like owning silver.
Avoid "sensationalist" stuff. While I believe we don't have a whole lot longer for cheap silver, every time I've seen "WE'RE GONNA MOOOOOOON GUYS BUYBUYBUY RIGHT FUCKING NOW" it never came true. Buy under what I call "the most boring case scenario" where silver just stays where it's at and see how happy you are with your purchases. Personally, I first started buying two years ago with no meaningful change in silver price.

Well basically I'm too retarded for investing and don't have the time, so was hoping to merely use this as a safe store of value indefinitely. Rahter than just sitting as an electronic number in a bank. As I said it was an unexpected gain, from a settlement, and I don't need it for anything. ASE are kinda trash desu. The issue is the US Mint have been sabotaged on purpose by (((them))) by handing the production to literal retards. What makes them so valuable is the artificial scarcity they are subjected to via low mintage.
The minute they decide to ramp up the production to normal levels (and they have the capacity to do 10x what they are producing atm), the eagle premium will vanish.

now its like $15
if you were to sell them, a shop might pay you $5, maybe 8 over. Silver would have to make some massive moves for you to break even. if you just got some generic whatever, you would be in the black much sooner.

>> No.52957710

Agreed with >>52957632, I still buy a few eagles every now and then since boomers adore them, seriously any gun show WILL have someone buying/selling Eagles and Morgan but they're just way too expensive to make up any reasonable bulk of a stack. They're seriously $45 minimum most places. Gold Buffalos aren't "bad" but you really can't expect any of that premium back, gold almost NEVER sells above spot price and sometimes below it.

If you want to know what's the best gold to buy, call some dealers and pawn shops in your county and pretend you inherited a big stack of gold coins. Tell them you got some type two gold eagles, gold buffaloes, gold maples, and gold krugerrands and you're seeing what the best place to sell them for the "funeral cost" would be. Chances are they won't care about any particular design and just pay the same anyway, so just buy whatever's the cheapest that isn't a generic (as in NOT a sovereign coin with a face value, like a Kruger or Brittania) and happens to tickle your stacker pickle

Then you can go for 10K worth of Maples for example. The coin is gorgeous, the premium is relatively low, the demand is always high for those, and they have the best anti-counterfeiting measures.
Or 10K in 10oz bars from a reputable and recognizable mint, like Asahi or Heraeus if you want to save on the premiums.
Both options are very liquid on the secondary market and you get back all your premiums by selling them back on ebay and such.

Got gilded Yotsu for the memes and it's seriously the only silver purchase I actively regret besides the 2021 silver proof set, and the 2021 was only regrettable because of the price.

Holo was dirt cheap and WAGMI is a seriously beautifully minted round. Apu's cute but kindof poorly minted, no real regrets not grabbing that one.

It's minted with an ass you mean! Even a Grug with a big silex would have done a better job. It was horribly done, Mintanon really got unlucky treating with this scamint. That said, it will always remain the first ever silver coin minted by a 4chin collective effort, and this alone makes it invaluable.

Bruh fr I showed my friend a mercury dime and explained why they're special, he told me "Oh, we just got an entire roll of those for change at the store I manage and just gave them out with the other coins

My older brother worked at a Winn dixie and some old guy seriously used six gold eagles to buy groceries, brother was allowed to buy half of them from the register and used them to pay for his wedding.
The same brother sees no reason to buy gold or silver because he's "already rich" and the single silver eagle I gave him for a birthday present and a silver dime I gave his kid is the only silver his household has.

This one. Really, it is a lovely set and I do like collecting these. I have every single silver state quarter now and am starting to work on every America the beautiful silver quarter. It's only regrettable for the price, it cost $110 total direct from the mint and doesn't even have a full troy ounce of silver. I still really like the look, especially the General George Washington reverse and final issue of the high relief John Flanagan Washington obverse sculpt. Just would like it a lot MORE if I only paid $45-$55 like I usually do for these things at the coin shop.

>It's minted with an ass you mean!
Lol, can't disagree. Plus they treated it like a drawing, not a narrow SCULPTURE, which is what a coin is. That's the first mistake of amateur minting, a coin is sculpture, not a pencil drawing. WAGMI has proper three dimensional depth and contours and is way better.
Tangent, I hate most coins with front facing portraits, the 2006 liberty nickel is an enormous downgrade from the 1938-2004 Felix Schlag profile Jefforson bust sculpt. It looks ghastly, what were they thinking? I guess the lowered relief saved on minting cost since dies get more life. They also lowered the relief on the state quarter and ATB quarter series obverse, and the new shitty Women's series Washington obverse also has a low relief. GAY. I love Augustine St. Gauden's comically high reliefs on the original Gold Eagles and Peace dollars before they got nerfed, THOSE were coins damnit. He was a sculptor, not a painter. Even artistically our money is debased. Even paper "money" looks like shit now, the old educational dollars series were so pretty.
We're in the soulless era of money, media, and architecture. If we'll even be remembered at all in the future it'll be prefaced with a big "What the hell happened"?

I miss Edmund Moy, dude wrote an entire book on the US's silver and platinum eagles program. Guy was an avid coin collector most of his life and had service with different governemnt bureaucracies, and he's still active in the coin collecting scene. David Ryder didn't know what the hell he was doing and only stayed with the mint a year, I imagine Ventris GIBSon won't stay for long either when it turns out being a mint director is actually not sunshines and rainbows of picking the coin drawings you like and you gotta manage bullion orders, congress's whims, supply chains, machining cost, inventory flow, bank orders for coins, and planchet purchases from third party contractors just off the top of my head

By the way the US mint doesn't make its own planchets anymore, how retarded can they get? Huh, I wonder why pennies are an active deficit to mint. Could it be the fact we BUY THEM at a PROFITABLE PRICE from an outside source INSTEAD of using the machines we ALREADY HAVE and factoring planchet cost into normal operating costs instead. Really just the US in a nutshell, profit ANYBODY at all as long as it isn't the working people, no matter the deficit cost to the taxpayers.

I can't wait for all this corrupted filth to be drained down in a torrent of blood so the US can go back to being the great nation it was supposed to be. But the situation is so bad, and the white replacement so advanced, i fear this might only remain a dream now...

They contracted that work out back in 1964 to try to get Silver coins made as cheaply as possible and kept on contracting ever since. Honestly it's probably cheaper to have private companies make planchets than to have US Government affirmative action hires doing it.

I made the mistake in 2021 of buying silver when it was $28+ per ounce. I made small orders of 6 ounces or whatever just to keep some coming in. But in retrosect, if I sat tight I could have purchases hundreds more ounces if I waited for $18 silver. We will never know what happens in the future or if we will get another opportunity like that. Because just like in 2021 and even now today, it feels like we are as close as ever to the price manipulation coming to an end. The comex levels are dropping, the banks seem to be on the long side again if I am not mistaken, and more eyes are on silver today than ever before. It's very very very difficult to decide what to do here. I know I will be happier about $30 silver than trying to buy when it begins to rise to $40-50. That's when the rocket is off the landing pad and there is no telling what will happen.

I own an ounce and some smaller gram bars. The market of it is super fucking tiny that it is one of the most exciting investments I own. The main use of platinum in catalytic converters makes it far more of an industrial metal than a monetary metal. However, the simple fact of it being a very solid, divisible, and value dense form makes it a very attractive place to store capital. When the inevitable rush for physical wealth occurs, platinum will swell up to the point of bursting imo. Just like with all investable materials in scarce supply, eventually industry will have to price out retail investors. And when that happens I can easily see Pt reaching rhodium levels of value. The scramble to quality/safety will break any sensible valuations that exist today while the bond market remains solvent. That is the ultimate catalyst I am waiting to see topple before I ever even think about selling any metals or miners.

The market is so tiny, it will be the first PM to break free. Plat is the canary in the coal mine.

Why isn't the designs rotated counterclockwise by 45 degrees? Did you finally buy your artist a protractor for Christmas?

In seriousness it'll be interesting to see how a non-anime/manga/meme coin will do (unless this is a meme? Only seen the reference a few times). Kind of risky deviating from the anime/manga/memes for the first gold/platinum coin. The bogs coins didn't do so well, could be possibly because the bogs were closer to reality than a meme.

What's the expected markup going to be for this from a gov gold/platinum coin like a Britannia/Maple/etc? The silver meme/anime coins have been roughly 2x to 3x of a silver coin. Are we looking at +$20 to +$40 of a gold/pt coin, or 2x of gold/pt coin. Which IMO would be absolutely ridiculous, best of luck to you, but you did markup the gildeds quite a bit and sold out.

I think it is highly likely that much of the supply of ASEs are being purchased up front by large institutions. There is also the prospect of the U.S. mint needing this capacity to issue a competing currency in order to sideline the dollar. This is not just merely a scheme to jack up silver premiums by constricting ASEs, something more is afoot.
