I don't think there are paid shills in /smg/ simply because it's too small of a community that shilling there would not be worth it, now there are definitely shills in wsb and it's adjacent subs but /smg/s problem is that it is infected with trip fags and literal trannies that obsess over specific tickers or being bulls/bears and turn off their brains to conflicting information that goes against their stupid positions, no different than the rest of /biz/ really. Yes. I work for a crypto company and visiting the twitter talk about it is surreal. On one hand I recognize the most positive shills as people I've worked on projects with but at least they are accurate. The general pleb public and their speculations and conspiracy theories around development are chimp level retarded and not close to accurate. Non shills + realistic speculation + insight doesn't seem to exist.

They have conspiracies that are utterly baseless but hilarious about various coworkers, or will be hyped up shills (for free) and we don't really know why, just cultish followers who don't seem to understand the tech but love it anyways and have latched on to us specifically. We don't pay them AFAIK I think they are bagholders? I ignore twitter entirely but sometimes a coworker does a presentation or ama there and I see the whackiest stuff. Crypto communities are weird.
