have you guys ever been part of a community for months and eventually gotten the feeling that the people talking all the time are paid to be there? Is that a thing?

Same. Pretty sure a bunch of them are either paid to keep making people bet bullishly and demoralize. That or they are extremely bad at trading/want to screw other people over.

Really turned me off to the idea of sharing any potential plays on there.

Yes. Every telegram group and discord community you think is giving you 'advice' is full of pajeets that are paid $0.01 a message. This unironically true and not a joke

The YAT discord is the absolute worst for this lol. Fluffy Pony launched that shit and only got the worst wallet + browser integrations for his emoji address platform. The server is full of people pretending they're having organic conversations

Fsggot6: Hey sup
Twiddles23: NM u
Faggot6: nothing just reading a book lol
Twiddles23: nice I love a good book lol. Especially on a weekend
Faggot6: yup definitely, tgif

Worst and weirdest shit ever. Please somebody join and tell me I'm not alone in thinking this, the server has been like this for years.

this anon knows. Because of the prevalence of what started as innocuous ‘community managers’ it has now basically become impossible to find any accurate information about anything crypto related, it’s shills all the way down. Telegram, Discord, Twitter, it’s all just paid 3rd worlders and bots, even articles published by supposedly reputable crypto news sources are actually paid advertising pieces. Even non crypto related communities have fell victim to this same sweeping transformation, but it’s all by design, after all, when we orientate our means of problem solving towards goods and services, and use products to define in-group out-group dynamics, as well as ourselves, and even through atomisation frame ourselves as the product to be consumed on the open job market, what’s left but for everything to become a walking advertisement ?

Once a trusted member of the team, the former employee had been with the project from the very beginning. But now, they stood before a crowd of reporters, ready to expose the shocking truth about the so-called "chainlink project."

According to the former employee, the entire project had been a carefully orchestrated scam, with no real smart contracts or oracles involved. Instead, the team had been using the fat body of a man named Sergay to mint the white cubes that had become the project's signature product.

I don't think there are paid shills in /smg/ simply because it's too small of a community that shilling there would not be worth it, now there are definitely shills in wsb and it's adjacent subs but /smg/s problem is that it is infected with trip fags and literal trannies that obsess over specific tickers or being bulls/bears and turn off their brains to conflicting information that goes against their stupid positions, no different than the rest of /biz/ really. Perhaps to a slightly greater extent as leverage fags are more common there.

Yes. I work for a crypto company and visiting the twitter talk about it is surreal. On one hand I recognize the most positive shills as people I've worked on projects with but at least they are accurate. The general pleb public and their speculations and conspiracy theories around development are chimp level retarded and not close to accurate. Non shills + realistic speculation + insight doesn't seem to exist.

>> No.52949947

>>52949879
Same. I knew twitter people were retarded, but now that I'm inside a crypto company it's hilarious how braindead stupid some people are. They have conspiracies that are utterly baseless but hilarious about various coworkers, or will be hyped up shills (for free) and we don't really know why, just cultish followers who don't seem to understand the tech but love it anyways and have latched on to us specifically. We don't pay them AFAIK I think they are bagholders? I ignore twitter entirely but sometimes a coworker does a presentation or ama there and I see the whackiest stuff. Crypto communities are weird.
