Just make your wallet/dat/utc file on some old laptop that's airgapped. Then copy it onto a USB and save it in 5 different computers/locations.

If you have a decent passphrase no one's cracking it anytime soon. If you're only receiving you never have to unlock the wallet so there's no risk from keyloggers/viruses. Then when it does come to spending time it's piss easy.

All you had to do was put the wallet on a usb and throw it in your safe. Two or three USBs actually, in case of corruption.

Alternatively you could have put the private key on some paper in the safe. Stored the private key in an encrypted database on your PC like KeePass or some shit, really so many options.

Not right now, no. It was in a shitty laptop but I did used to use that laptop for other shit like torrenting, etc, or when I was travelling. The HD is 148GB but full with only 3GB space left on it, mostly albums/ebooks.

Similarly, I tried backing up my Chrome bookmarks because they might offer some insight in to where the fuck I put it and/or the actual address of the wallet since I don't even know that.
