what about poor and indifferent vs rich and depressed?

>> No.52939533

Money doesn't change you. It just amplifies what you already are.

That's why 90% of broke ass fags that win millions in a lottery end up broke again in less than a decade.
Same thing with people who made it purely because they had luck with crypto.

One study said somewhere around 70k annual is where money stops buying happiness. That was the balance of "I can live comfortable and not worry about food/shelter and have a hobby or two" where below that was struggling for needs and above that yielded no greater life satisfaction. This was some years ago, adjust for inflation ofc. Once your basic needs are met, it's really more about how you live your life.

That study said that was the point where more money started having diminishing returns, not that it wouldn't afford you any more happiness.
And it was made a long time ago. Inflation adjusted it's 85-90k now, at the very least. And the bar is getting higher every year.

This phrase is just to be taken metaphorically. You can't buy any emotion because it comes from your brain, and it isn't dependent on outside events unless you want it that way. You can be happy when you choose it, not when someone else allows you to.

Money passed a certain amount doesn’t buy happiness. That amount I’d say is 100 million
