As the other anon pointed out, arable land is the most important. Also make sure there's no additional obligations from the sale of the land as there are some where a portion of the profits from farming go to the previous owner for 50 years (yes that really is a thing).

>Why would people sell their place to live to buy gold?

The price of housing is overinflated while gold is being sold at incredibly low prices. It's a gamble that gold will be revalued, but if it is and you can't afford to pay the high interest rates on your house, then you can sell your house and then sit on your gold until the market price adjust for them both. Considering all of us here know that the western markets are filled with fake value such as gold derivatives, banks and governments will just keep on doing what they are doing until they can't get away with it any longer. They will print money to infinity and lie to everyone about the value of fiat, but when the public wakes up to the meaningless value of fiat, you will have a crack up boom effect where everyone drops their fiat into real assets like gold and silver. This will have the effect of precious metals booming while house prices will crater due to the fiat value imploding. You will have a real price discovery of how much gold you can buy a house with without fiat in between because no one will trust the system anymore.

Supply problems at the US mint caused American Silver Eagles to rise in price. This made Americans start buying non-US silver coins like Maple and Britannia coins that also eventually rose their prices, and the n Krugerrands, and then Philharmonics and then even stuff like rounds and generic bars started increasing because of the high demand. Now the demand has hit the Comex and spot price has moved up as well.

>But why not real assets like houses?
Houses are not as liquid as gold.

>That doesn't make sense.
I've already said that house prices are inflated because of fiat manipulation. In effect people's labor is worth less now than it was decades ago because of all the money printing that happened over that duration. When fiat becomes worthless, people's labor will exit from fiat and will be worth its real value again, That expression will be through assets like gold, which is being suppressed through paper derivatives.

The only way for house prices to come down is for governments and central banks to do something called quantitative tightening so fiat money can return to its stronger value, but they can't because western financial systems need to infinitely expand otherwise pensions would collapse, so the alternative is to destroy jobs and people's spending power, but then that has the effect of closing businesses creating its own death spiral.

Surely you now understand why the fiat system must implode because it ends the fakery of it all. This is why all of us here say that governments and the banksters do not care about the common man and in reality we're all debt slaves to them.

That looks more like milk spotting than oil to me. If it's milk spotting, it's a manufacturing defect with the coin and you can't do anything about it. Happens when borax gets left on the coin and gets baked in but might not show up until later. Not even air sealing can stop it.

If it's oil, it should just come off in soapy water. Do not use anything abrasive. Air dry with a fan. Even microfiber can scratch polished silver surfaces so don't use much pressure.

The most important thing to consider is LEVERAGE. To the extent that borrowed money is propping up an assets price, then that asset has room to deflate. Real estate in America is unaffordable without mortgages, and in a cash market all housing will collapse. The family building utility of small reasonable houses will hold up FAR BETTER than anything with built in luxury premium.
During the Weimar inflation, housing collapsed because most people could not afford to maintain them. Houses depreciate, and without HELOCs etc most people will not be paying someone top dollar to repair roofs etc when the ability of tenants to pay collapses as well. In many ways, housing price is also a function of rent. And if all of these "speculators" who bought up airbnb housing begin to unload, the price will absolutely crater in REAL TERMS. Even if the price of housing goes up! You will absolutely be losing in terms of other hard commodities such as gold etc.
Whenever confused about the economy, do this: Ask if there is leverage. And imagine the scenario where you suddenly remove all of the sources of leverage. Then ask yourself what you think will happen.
All leverage must be paid back. That's how it works. There are no free lunches and the exponential nature of it guarantees that it comes to an abrupt end.

Depends on the buys, but if you're buying with the intent to flip, silver rounds and bars are closer to melt price when you buy, so you don't risk losing the coin premium if milk spotting occurs. Most coin shops would probably offer market rate melt for milk spotted coins.

Look at a graph of increasing debt and U.S. GDP.
If you graph out two exponential functions and one is increasing at a rate FASTER, then they inevitably run away from each other. We have to maintain debt and spending just to prop up the GDP growth. We need GDP growth to pay back the debt. This also means that we need more and more debt just to maintain the status quo and running a surplus is impossible.
There are also no free lunches, only losses. Bad bonds do not just "disappear".

I don't get crazy over the numisrules myself. I'm not really after the numismatics part of stacking to be honest. I just like constitutional as a means to add fractional without getting my financial shitgrippers too blown out with premiums. I purchase, resell and refine sterling pretty regularly, so I keep a tub or two of Hagerty silverfoam, and a polishing cloth. I clean coins and don't even worry. You gotta treat your stack the way you want to though.
Last gold I picked up was just a li'l bit ago. Three weeks ago maybe? I was in my LCS talkin' to the owner seein' if he had any scrap gold he was lookin' to part with. Basically as they system vacuums up wealth and injects bad IOUs, we have a system where we are all bankrupt, with the legal-financial system having transferred all capital into the hands of the elite. When you consider one ounce of gold as a unit of "capital", most peoples lives are spent earning less than this amount every two weeks. And what they do earn goes to paying off loans and paying for services. This econony is unable to provide capital to it's workers, but is rife with services and consumer goods. We're starting to look like the end-game of capitalism where money-begets money and it now has consolidated into the hands of a certain group who now have complete control to implement whatever rationing system they want. IF.. and only IF the political landscape allows them this freedom. I think they are getting scared when populist sentiments are bubbling up just under the surface as can be shown by the support for Donald Trump whose use of racial undertones allowed him to surge to the front of the line, despite efforts of their media apparatus to shut him down. I think they want to walk back their plans but we are too far gone.

No. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but he doesn’t have “money”, he’s got Tesla stock. So if he wants to buy silver, he has got to sell Tesla stock first. And if he sells a lot, the price will drop, so the more he sells, the less money he’ll end up with.
Also, he’s currently doing the best he can to reduce teslas value without selling, with his whole twitter shenanigans.

For the ones wondering why silver is mooning today, it's because comex banksters only have few days left to settle December's trades and there are still tons of open contracts who might settle for deliveries.

They were able to add 1.5Moz to registered yesterday in preparation of delivery notices for the open contracts left, so that's why we are up. And 1.5Moz might be far from enough if they still want to maintain mordicus their registered stack above (supposed) 30Moz, so they will probably continue to scrap silver wherever they can for the next few days. So prepare your angus for 25 spot. Then a leg down afterward (unless some internal struggle occur).

I have a friend who just spent $8k on a wedding ring, and it hurts my soul to not sperg out about diamonds being common as fuck and it's a monopoly created on the back of incessant marketing ploys.
Even hearing stories about how the jewelers would let you look and pick out your own diamonds and they would "instruct" you on more valuable ones. And how they let you "upgrade" by giving you 100% of the markup for return visits.
Real commodities like gold and silver are readily settled. My LCS will only reluctantly weigh the junk silver I am buying so as to help save me a few cents. That's what a real commodity market looks like.
They actually have the audacity to "mint" some diamond infused coins to cash in on the idea of storing your money in commodities. The only problem being one coin costs almost 2.5 ounces of gold. Totally fucking laughable, the whole diamond industry. It's so obviously stupid I couldn't even feel bad for people buying diamonds when they could spend that money in a myriad of more enjoyable/productive ways.

I'm glad I made my purchases yesterday and not today. I might actually have made my goal of filling the quarter mug.

Does anyone else on /pmg/ stack aluminum?

I recycle aluminum cans, and I have friends who save theirs for me. It's nice snagging a twenty spot a couple times a year and literally turning cash into mining shares that pay me money.

I do melt aluminium maybe once a year.
What you want to do is peellets.
Slowly pours the liquid aluminium in a big bucked of water (don't use a plastic one, and take care about projections).
This will help clean the aluminium, and give you nice, usable pellets for clear pourings.
Also, invest in a mold. You can find some decent ones on etsy to cast something interesting at least.
But, please, don't use the infamous iron muffin tray, it's a pain to make anything reusable out of that.
