Here is my trading dilemma I had success scalping 1 to 5% profit on ATM 20-30 DTEs. Made $10k in a month going cash to cash everyday. But in order to achieve that I would have to deploy $25k at least once a week to "buy the right answer" through doubling down. So it worked perfectly for a month and then I gave it all back in one bad trade in October. Haven't been able to be profitable since. If I use more reasonable max position sizes and stop losses then I'm way less profitable. So I switched back to 0 DTEs with the thought process that the cheaper premiums and daily expiration will force me to keep it small and take my loss. I had 1 successful day scalping $10 -20 at a time with 0 DTEs deploying this strategy. Made the same amount as my 30 DTE scalps with a fraction of the cost/risk. But with 0 DTEs the high gamma just absolutely rapes you immediately if the underlying goes against you. Again hard to be profitable if using stops. If I can solve this dilemma I will be able to make a living doing this I think.

Your problem is that you're trying to pick a side over profiting off theta decay. 0DTEs are a brand new tard harvest mechanism meant to harvest retail pig money out of the market as fast as possible, both sides are shit to go long on. You should be using a strategy that maximizes the profit off of IV crush. If you're not going to do this you need to go to a month+ expiration where you'll easily take profit on both sides with the targets you're setting and current volatility.

What kind of software do pros use to track the IV throughout time on all their positions. Because I just keep a mental note of what the IV is when I buy vs whenever I check on my position. Also as a retail goy I do NOT like being naked and short with the MMs. I've had crazy shit happen to me when naked and short way too much for it to be a coincidence. That's why I switched to long contracts. Because I started the year trying to scalp naked calls and that led to naked short strangles and that all led to big losses. I was short during the Russia bombed NATO ALLY POLAND meme flash crash and got heemed and swore off of being short with MMs. You tell me a better way. I could go back to scalping short contracts with hard stop loss in place but it's not that much different than scalping long contracts IMO. Maybe I just dont have the temperament for being short. Got some on call gig working for an IT company. This company hired me right after I took and passed the A+ exam (same company did the testing to). Friend inherited a farmhouse w/land and barn. Rented it out. Me and several other friends all lived there. Did that from 2003 till 2008. Got fired from IT job (company went bankrupt). Got work with a place that worked with the schools in the state (Got fired from that place to in 2005 due to political b.s). Got hired by the state in 2005. Been a rising star ever since. (Funny thing is; I do nothing but they keep promoting me/jacking up my salary). Bought my house thanks to the 2008 mess cheap as hell. (400 a month for a 3bed,1.5 bath). Not in some hell hole either. Looks like the divvy is the average of the coupon %, minus a little bit for themselves. The leveraged versions don't appear to pay a dividend. You'd buy this if you didn't want to manage your own 30 year treasuries, but it isn't that hard to manage if you pay a bit of attention so you just get scammed off a spread and an ever shifting, opaque set of holdings.
