Fed hiked their terminal rate prediction +0.5% EVEN AFTER fully taking into account the recent rosy inflation figures. That is why we're giga puking, the fed got insanely more hawkish even despite all the slowdowns and good prints we've been seeing, which means they're signaling that they don't really actually give any kind of a shit about prints, at least not in the near term. They're just going to keep hiking and erring on the side of too much tightening vs too little. That means good prints can't pump the market anymore, which means all news is bad news, which means we are downonly until (bare minimum) we hit 5% unemployment. Anyone with longs still open is suicidal. Anyone waiting for a bounce to get out of their positions is going to get reamed.

My puts were long. (20JAN) I bought the $398 put last week before the pump to $410 unfortunately. But the theta was low enough for me to survive until it corrected down, and I broke even. Held it through a few days ago into the green, and made a measly 20% because I know the theta was going to catch up to me. I sold it early at $388 thinking the bulls would reclaim $390 unfortunately as well, but didn’t want to get greedy with Father Time nibbling at my ass. I would have been deep ITM if I would have held today. But since I’m a cash account, my funds being settled T+1 allowed me to scoop up prime SPY calls not too long ago at $381. I’m already up almost 20% right now and like I said earlier think we’ll retest $388 next week before going down more.
