Investments are 95% gut feeling.

I kinda agree, but only because "gut feelings" are actually the result of the most advanced computational system ever known (our brain) picking up on subtle patterns. This is the greatest tool disposable to us, but there are pitfalls. The brain is also known to easily get emotional and irrational. To rely on gut feelings you first have to train yourself and develop a massive library of experience, so that you know how to filter out the lizard-brain gut feelings from the actually smart gut feelings.

If you aren't reading everything you can about what you put money into you then you probably shouldn't even invest.

100%, but you do need a very high IQ (ravens progressive matrices for pattern recognition)

you actually invest the best when you treat that number in your brokerage account as nothing more than a video game score. no greedy emotional idiot attachment to your money
