this is kind of a neat point because there is no "purpose" to Bitcoin's blockchain. Others are using blockchain for all kinds of creative purposes, but BTC's value is now derived from its brand and the strength of its network, which at this point is absolutely enormous. It's become a decentralized store of value because people have agreed on a massive scale that it's valuable. Pretty cool if you ask me. It's also the same reason why Bcash will always be second fiddle at best, for better or worse

OP to answer your question, the best way to get people to understand the problems with backing bcash and their hostile takeover is for them to understand who Roger Ver and Jihan Wu are, and the centralized power grab that bcash represents - which also requires understanding why decentralization is so important to bitcoin. sadly the majority of investors probably got into crypto because it appreciates in dollar value and don't know/couldn't care what it's actually all about

The fact bcash has a ‘ceo’ is agains everything this entire project is about. Sure whales have some influence over btc and so do certain teams if devs but not to the point where 1-3 ‘ceos’ can direct they project in a certain direction on a whim or more to the point, direct it based on the acquisition of personal gain. One threat on their lives by a shadow corporation with more power or their greed to aquire power at any cost is something decentralisation was supposed to be an escape from. Bcash is corruptible due to its centralisation. That is the elephant in the room. Patience is required for a concensus to direct btc but bcash has been impatient and as a result risked a chance of freedom from the banks and governments, also because of their greed.
