If it's PoS, then it's not PoW.

both are Sybil Control Mechanisms, basically just spam protection. by itself they say nothing about decentralization, security or efficiency.

shut up shill
PoS is inherently insecure

nope, Sybil Control Mechanisms say NOTHING about security.

How much mining power secures your fotm shitcoin? now how much secures bitcoin?

Which sybil control mechanism encourages and disproportionately benefits those with the most money?

PoW vs PoS is a meme. PoS is only insecure if you implement it like a fucking subhuman retard (see ETH 2.0).
Vitalik is a fucking nigger I swear to god when I find him imma curbstomp that little faggot into a fine pink mist.

A handful of mining pools.

PoW and PoS can both be centralized.
By itself they say nothing about security, decentralization or efficiency.
If you still cant grasp this you are a fucking retard that will never make it.

based anon.
PoW or PoS means nothing. For decentralization and resilience, you measure distribution. Distribution of either STAKE ot MINING POWER. Same thing. One is external, other is internal, end result is similar especially for smart contract platforms.

Monero is more secure than Bitcoin due to better decentralization and smarter PoW algo.

Algorand is better designed than both Ethereum and Cardano with its Pure Proof of Stake, but stake is much more centralized as of today. Same for Avax.

It's all that simple.

>POW and POS can be centralized.
of course...
but POW is inherently more secure.

with goof assumptions yes, cf Monero RandomX PoW algo, the best system so far. Bitcoin has weaker fundamental PoW. Mining pools + ASIC dominance + Monopoly of China over ASICs = simple equation.
So no, PoW is not "inherently more secure". Stop generalizing everything to make your smooth brain feel better. What's more secure is more secure, and it depends on many variables when discussing decentralized tech, wether money or platforms.

try Random botnets centralizing monero mining power!!!!!

And a non argument from the other pip heres something else to chew on.
No other mechanism can store and transfer energy on paper like POW no other implementation stores energy like bitcoin

What's the better way to implement PoS? Cosmos? They look more centralized.

PoS = Piece of Shit
It's literally that simple

remove slashing, remove MEV, and lower hardware requirements for validators as much as possible. AVAX does these three things and as a result is the most decentralized PoS.
It also helps to have a practically unlimited validator set. Cosmos and Polkadot can't handle more than a few hundred concurrent validators because their consensus scales n*log(n) and not log(n).
