#1 L2 Arbitrum keeps growing, reducing need for L1 gas
Arbitrums best offering, anytrust/nova, uses almost zero L1 gas
Chainlinks newest high frequency price feed offering uses almost zero L1 gas
Current fees/MC is like 1%

I hold a ton of eth and Im starting to think I fucked up...

>> No.52833823

All that just means more stuff can be built on top of Ethereum. Your ETH gets more valuable, not less.

People cam build on eth whether its 10000, 1000 or 100
What drives price under POS is return/total gas fees
All of these drivers are bearish

It was more bearish when gas fees were at 1 Gwei for years, no EIP-1559 burns, 5 ETH block reward and 10% inflation etc. There's so much demand for L1 blockspace and I don't see this ever going away. Users still pay 20x more in fees to use Eth vs. Bitcoin https://cryptofees.info/

layer 1s will ultimately be reduced to settlement layers and nothing else. most of the work will be done off chain and there will be minimal demand for something like eth down the road.

you think eth will have the speed of any current legacy transactional system any time soon? it's barely 20 and because the devs drag their fucking feet, it won't even match current credit card company tps in the next few years.

How can inpearn about crypto fundamentals? I keep hearing about them and how important they are but I feel dumb and lost

what fundamentals are you trying to learn about?

If you use any legit l2 its nearly instant

Theres another layer: if the l2 systems are securing large amounts more than the baselayer then there is a security risk of a low value l1

Which then incentivizes the l2/oracle layer providers to integrate their own "backup" l1 for safetys sake
Which in turn becomes the only l1 that matters as a pure l1 without scaling/comp/data << value than a fully integrated stack
What do you think D.M. has been publishing on?

All of them. The basics and whatever op just said. Anything important for when someone says "checkout the project's fundamentals before buying"
I guess I sort of understand what a block chain is at the very least

Whenever you come up with a question or concept you are unfamiliar with, you go google it. You open the first 5 links in new tabs and read them. If there's something you didn't understand in those articles you iterate and google those concepts (or click the links in the articles for more articles). You might read a lot of bullshit at first but as you learn more you'll start recognizing and avoiding it. If you find a good source read or at least scroll through everything they have published and bookmark/follow it. This is the best way to learn crypto. Read, read, read.

the only way to do research is to escape this board. in 2017, there were good takes. nowadays even people who are serious are tired of speaking up against the hordes of pseudojeets married to their bags

In reality, holds ADA. Begone to your ghost chains and leave the blue chips to the guys who know.

He can ignore the avalanche specific parts if he wants, the fundamentals are true whether you like them or not though. Salmon ID anon you should be careful you don't get sucked into bad mental frames by salty ETH maxis either like the one I'm replying to. Learn the fundamentals of how things work, understand the engineering tradeoffs that are made (or don't have to be for certain protocols) as a consequence thereof, then develop your own opinions on how you think different project's approaches will best match with real world, value-driving use cases. Maxiboi is correct though that biz is a pretty bad place to research. A lot of people here don't understand shit but spout off marketing shill material like they do. It's rare to actually have a decent technical discussion. Try to seek out academic lectures on youtube and avoid coindesk explainer articles from 4 years ago.
