With 2.5% link, up to a potential 7.5%, off the market for the foreseeable future, there is no liquidity crisis. However, that can quickly change. At the moment, the ETH/usd feed is the most widely adopted and requested feed for DeFi. What if there was another feed widely used for DeFi that just suddenly appeared, like WBTC/usd? And that feed also required the same security as ETH/usd? Suddenly you could have anywhere between 5% to 15% link off of the market. Now I’m not saying that every price feed will require the same rules because some feeds aren’t as important as others. But the point is, each price feed right now could theoretically be requested to have some kind of staked link securing it, like bnb/usd or matic/usd since those are the chains with the most usage outside of ETH. What about avax? From there you start delving into the realm of blockchain agnosticism. Each gas token of each chain is likely to be the main holding of the user of the chain. So for the sake of security, blockchains a-z could request staked link for gas token a-z/usd. Then suddenly what if anyone could spin up an oracle node? What about CCIP? A sudden release of these functionalities would definitely cause a liquidity crisis. We now introduce the Chainlink economics 2.0 and Chainlink staking versioning system…that being said,

There’s already more than 50% of the link supply available, and 2.5% of the total supply was staked in 2 days for one feed. Anyways i don’t care, I’m getting 4.75% on my link for doing absolutely nothing while also giving myself airdrop opportunities to 10+ projects at the moment for once again absolutely nothing. I will also stake my link again for the next price feed that becomes available and each subsequent price feed to once again increase my link stack for doing absolutely nothing and guess what, there’s absolutely nothing you can do.
