Using your car stereo to mine Monero. Turns out ASIC resistance wasn't a meme.

>> No.52788358

How much are you making with that and how did you set it up?

He only has 300 h/s so basically nothing, but it's pretty funny that he can even mildly compete for network consensus with a car stereo (~1/25 of what my CPU does for reference).

With more work you could probably have it use half the CPU for playing music (not speaking from knowledge here though). Not that it exactly makes sense to do so anyways but it's still interesting

Depends on how much power goes in

The faster you charge your battery with the alternator the more power you have thus the more you could mean

I would say this only works if you dont drive in city's but mostly rural areas where you can use high speeds and not much stopping

How do I profit from this? Is there some way for me to mine monero on a shit ton of computers and retire already? Should I get a job with access to a large amount of computers or something?

I host a full onion node with 128 in peers and 128 out peers. It's running on a Toshiba Satellite my aunt got in 2011. I run cmatrix in the foreground and it's basically just a functional decoration.

Currently 73 days of uptime since the last issue.

I had a gamer laptop with an rtx 2060/Ryzen 7 4800H on it. How much could i mine using minero gui?

You've basically got a step above my DD laptop in terms of what your chips are capable of.

I could get this laptop to ~1500h/s before it started getting too warm. I HIGHLY recommend just getting desktop hardware, mining on laptops can have all kinds of detrimental effects. I would assume you could probably get 2-3kh/s with yours, far from worthwhile.

It WOULD be a good idea to download/compile xmrig on that laptop and learn how to use it properly before you set up desktop hardware, though.

Check last gen Ryzen CPUs, avoid intel, they're just not as good for mining.
my 5950x rigs running Linux pull 14kh/s each, maybe 30-40 cents a day per rig.

Free electricity can be functionally had if you're using it to heat your house anyway. Same with your alternator generating 10x more electricity than needed, so you might as well put a Monero miner in your stereo.
