It's a lot like cooking a chicken. It depends how big the chicken is. Some chickens are small and some are bigger. You see, it really depends on how big the chicken is. So to answer your question, it depends on how big the Earth is. No one knows the answer to this so I prefer the mystery. You just hang out and wait for the gold to fall down and then go look at it and then if it's really heavy that's good.

The banksters at JP Morgan would take the gold, hide it, and keep manipulating the price of precious metals to cover their tracks. The real price of physical silver and gold right now is easily 100 times what they're showing you it is.

>If a giant asteroid made of gold hit the Earth, what would happen to the price of gold?

There's enough gold in the Earth to cover the entire planet knee high. A giant asteroid hitting Earth wouldn't be a dent if we could mine what we already have. To be honest, to reduce the price of gold only requires wiping out billions of people alive today, which is a far easier task than mining for gold, or waiting for a golden asteroid to hit our planet.

Gold FUDders are fucking funny. Price is only trending up since the derivative market is pozzed and the current system is about to implode. But keep FUDding, I'll buy the cheapies and rule over you when the 4th turning completes.

Everyone in this thread is talking hypotheticals, and calculations have concluded that there's enough gold in the whole of the Earth to cover its surface knee high. If you have a problem with that fact, bring it up with the people who made that calculation.

Asteroid mining is more likely than deep core mining at our technology level, but if we've already got the infrastructure to do any amount of asteroid mining, we'd already on the way to post-scarcity. Rounds or bullion would just retain value as historical novelties.

All electronic would become cheaper if we are talking about 500+ Tons, also other Precious Metals would become more sought after. But because we live in a world of opposites, gold will skyrocket because the Gold would've most likely either hit a low population density area or the ocean making it harder to transport and collect. All the locals would horde the shit before government spooks show up and take it. It would be deemed a protection of state security due to the shear amount that would have to land due to most of the gold being literally boiled into a gas as temperatures would exceed its boiling point. Most of the gold would fall onto earth as a vapor sticking to random shit god knows where.
