I really don't understand. What does Bitcoin need 500 devs for? Every time there is a suggestion for an improvement it gets completely shot down. How has those 500 developers managed to improve Bitcoin more than Bitcoin Cash has been improved the past six months, because it seems Bitcoin Cash is still superior even with no developers.

What are these 500 people doing? Also, how are they getting paid?

There's no way ETH has 500 developers and it implements revolutionary new updates to crypto every three or six months. I just don't understand.

Hahaha, he didn't even answer how they're going to scale BCH in the future. No way could he tell them that they need 1TB blocks every ten minutes to get on Visa and MasterCard's level (based off this[0] paper). This means that you can't run a full node at that scale unless you can afford to add 52 petabytes of redundant storage to your node per year. BCH can't scale.

And at 5:48 we get "I think insider trading is a non-crime" -- Roger Ver. I wonder who could have been behind the insider trading.

BCH literally is scaling, right now. That's why is has faster transactions and lower fees. BTC is the one that is failing to scale

Increasing the blocksize is a form of scaling. You can argue that it might not work forever, but to claim it's not scaling is simply a lie. If it wasn't scaling, BTC and BCH would have similarly sluggish, expensive transactions.

Nah, you just pulled that out of your ass. The fact that a scaling solution might only work up to a certain point doesn't mean it's not a scaling solution.

But the real mistake you guys mistake is in thinking that simply increasing the blocksize means that Bitcoin cash is now prohibited from adopting any other scaling solution developed in the future.

Maybe it will, maybe it won't, why not take advantage of on chain scaling while it's still a perfectly viable solution?

The split didn't happen because the BCH folks were opposed to LN, it happened because the core devs refused to compromise on blocksize. Things have become polarized in the last few months and obviously most current BCH supporters are adamantly against lightning, but that's not why the fork occurred.

If it doesn't then that means it's not at Visa scale. If BCH scales up then they will need insanely large blocks.

>it happened because the core devs refused to compromise on blocksize.
With LN they don't need larger blocks. Once LN is available the transaction backlog is going to disappear. All adding larger blocks will do is make it harder for a regular person to own a full node.

>>5281686
It's not. It has decentralized hubs and nothing is preventing you from sending BTC the old fashioned way if you don't like it. Regular people will still be able to run full nodes, which isn't the case for BCH if it becomes popular (and doesn't adopt lightning. If they do they may as well have not forked to begin with).

Wrong. Availability and adoption are 2 very different things. LN adoption will take years, segwit has near 0% adoption months after release.

And the $30 fees exist because shill exchanges have dragged their feet for a long time on activating Segwit. It wouldn't be a problem if they didn't want to destroy BTC to replace it with their own scamcoin.

That's like saying BTC was centralized when Satoshi was testing it.

What you don't seem to realize is that you can't scale (vertically, nor horizontally) if your design is shit to begin with, and all that follows are shit hacks and crap patches. Just look at that bastard called LN. You'd call that an elegant design for the problem at hand? Cool. The competition will gladely take over all your shekkels. Maybe not today, but soon enough. But whatever. Talking about buttcoins is like beating a dead horse.

>> No.5282322

Absolute bullshit of the highest order. The fees are high because the small blocks can't handle the current level of traffic. It has nothing to do with "shill exchanges" not adopting segwit.

>> No.5282594

Segwit is enough to clear the backlog for the near future until LN is released. There's currently around 5-6 transactions per second in the BTC mempool. Segwit brings capacity up to 11 transactions per second, so BTC would need to double in transaction rate for Segwit to be saturated. By the time that happens LN will be released. BCH was an unnecessary fracture and is going to get its shit pushed in when LN is released.

>>5282372
Yes, they can fork BCH again. Not only can they, they are going to HAVE to. Which is why BCH is fucking stupid when we already have Segwit. The BCH developers are aware of that, but it doesn't matter because BCH is a power grab.
