>Working at globohomo pharma company in engineering department, studied bio in uni like a retard
>Get salary of 80k per year.
>After income tax, ~53k per year (39k USD).
>Extra 13% sales tax on almost everything.
>Live within 100km of Greater Toronto Area, so real estate is ultra expensive
>Ever increasing immigration driving down wages, now have to complete with 100 bootlicking pajeets for every position.
>only chance to make more money is take a job in the city, requiring hour long commute and meager pay increase.
I feel like this is as far as the train goes. I don't feel like it will get better than this. What the fuck is this country. Am I delusional? Should I just become a tradie? I'm only 28 bros, too young to give up yet.

i’ve been in and out of the hospital (in a major city) about 20 times in the last few years because of cancer and an infection. i’m a straight white male 30 year old boomer.
never waited longer than 20 minutes for an appointment or triage. got my infection checked, had a minor surgery performed, and got a prescription for antibiotics (~$15) all within the span of 30 minutes.
paid nothing for the visits, the medication, the chemo, and the homecare.

the picrel is an extreme case due to poor management as patients are supposed to be seen in order of severity, regardless of status, a hallmark of this tried and trusted system. it worked for several decades just fine. the problems we are seeing are due to a shortage of resources and poor management of the ones we do have. what we need is more healthcare funding - more homegrown docs and nurses, less immigrant healthcare practitioners - and fucking competent people in all levels of government

Your pay is not up to par for your career but even still this is what living in socialist countries is like. Most of Europe is the same. It's why I want to leave. "Equality" just means dragging everyone to the same level of lower class. Sure, the worst most useless scum are elevated but they are human detritus that should be rightly economically prevented from reproducing their bad genes. The consequence is that better people are dragged down and hindered and those are exactly the people who require better conditions to feel comfortable reproducing.
Move out west.

Fair enough. I went into experimental science (radiochemistry), and can't do wfh because one colorless liquid won't pour itself into another colorless liquid. I didn't realize in college that scientists don't make much in comparison to engineers, but chemE seemed suicidally boring, and I genuinely like being an academic researcher so maybe I makde the right choice in the wnd. My specific skillset gives me options with glowie organizations in the states, and it seems like everything else, even humanities benefits from the less regulated economy here. Also, you can deduct the interest on a mortgage from your taxes here in the US, which you can't do in CA, so there is no incentive to buy a house/land up there.
