I'm 23 and applied to grad School (med) I fit the criteria but was rejected despite seemingly having stronger admissions scores than some people that got admitted. I've applied three times now to this course and usually fail at interview stage.

My current options are:

>Managament/Strategy consultancy grad schemes
>Data science grad schemes
>Medical writing

All of these careers have decent starting salaries for now, data science and consultancy have the highest ceilings but the latter is more grow or get out.

What should I go with I have a Neuroscience bachelors

Literally every med school lists the average MCAT and GPA score of accepted students. If you google “average MCAT and GPA of med school”, you’ll find multiple lists and calculators for in state and out of state chances of being accepted.

I got wait listed for one school and waiting on a response for the others, but I probably will end up not going to med school and not caring

Same thing happened to me years ago. 32 Mcat 3.88 overall GPA. I'm a trucker now. It's ok. I guess moral of the story is if you're a white male you got to make it on your own, no institution will ever give you a break.

Basic electrician bitch would be homeowner already at that age. Time is money. More time spend in school inflates the better salary away. Also social status is a scam. Only money matters.

Nah it isn't I see this play out in real life, those Jobs and education also allow access into worlds and networks that the layman will not see besides a movie.

I think the important thing is to just make a decision and pursue it vigorously. When it's clear you're not on the right path, change course and don't linger. Lingering is the worst thing you could do in my mind. I know because that's a mistake I made.

They have graduate programmes at places like Deloitte, PWC etc That I could look into but its tough with out much experience and I just want to start earning now for 30.

Doesn't consulting at Deloitte and PWC typically consist of business strategy and cost cutting consultancy? I don't see how a bachelor's in neuroscience can add any value there. Data science is also nebulous, after a decade of growth it's time to show returns but it hasn't provided much except in limited cases. I'm interested in your case because I'm dating a girl who is maybe a year behind you (neuroscience bachelors, wanted to to to med school too) so I'm curious to see what alternatives are.

That's interesting, I considered it since I've heard that field does mind what degree you do though Econ/biz/finance/quantitive ones are good too. I've heard of political science, art students getting in after some internships. There are other paths including a masters and phd for academia or working as an industry scientist (something I'd considered but the pay in the uk is not high enough to justify it for me, despite it being interesting). If she's interested in consulting there are also life science consultants that are needed for technical knowledge or working with health startups.

If she's younger id consider just working in the mean time and applying again, I'm strongly considering other options as I'll be in my mid 20's next year and would like to start earning.
