Does anybody else collect physical money just for the artwork and historical value?

I love how the back of the $2 bill is a monochrome version of a famous painting.

Yes I do. $1000 and $500 bills, other countries currencies, and rare coins. The Rothschilds patriarch got his start in the above.

Aye, i have stacks of star notes, old coins/money. I also (off chance surprise) have a collection of quarters, dimes etc of 1989 to 2001. Who knows what really happens in the next 100 years but hell, i know people like old shit, these coins will eventually become old and lost, maybe my family might get something outta it.

Billions were minted. Old banknotes in good condition hold value because they are so fragile. Base metal coinage will never be worth more than face value, and once the government that produced them demonitezes them, they will be worthless. You can buy old demonitized base metal coins by the pound for practically nothing

I like how it still says 'promise to pay the bearer on demand'.
If that were fucking true the monopoly money would still be worth something kek. They take all the good ideas capitalists have, twist it so they can steal from the public, and then everything they stole becomes worthless/taken back by a pissed off people that revolt and destroy the place
Every fucking time lol!

They often take older coins out of circulation because the metal content becomes worth more than the coin.
Eg US nickel
