Nursing is fucking terrible and will make you want to commit suicide, and then your 150/hr check hits the bank account and you get up in a robotic motion to do it all again. Travel Nursing is the only one worth it because the pay is absurd, if you're going to be a RN, don't do it for 70-100k/year. Also 3x12 hour shifts is pretty based, it's nice having 4 days off. I still would recommend anything else unironically.

It's been a no effort money pile for over a decade. Base pay is 55/hr traveling right now with this contract but also receive $1500 in tax free stipend weekly. Mind you this is also on the lower end of what you can make if you’re willing to chase the money you can make much more. Don’t get me wrong it’s a shit job but I like my time off. If you work at a good facility you have a lot of autonomy once physicians trust you. If you’re considering nursing just make sure you do critical care, tele/med surg is monkey status

I don't want to shill, but yes. Starts with W ends with U, completely online, it's a total degree mill or will soon be one, but HR at tech companies don't give a shit and it's still low profile so they think it's a brick and mortar. I did only leetcode easy and speedran through the entire degree in a year. I barely knew basic coding and landed a six-figure job 2 months after I finished my degree. This is all while working per-diem as a RN. Nursing is too fucking trash, I was legitimately suicidal. Being a career switcher from healthcare to tech was definitely a huge selling point in my interviews and on my resume. You're making big bucks dude, I wouldn't be in a rush to go into tech as there are massive layoffs right now. I completed the switch at the perfect time (2020). I've been a SWE for nearly 3 years now and I've written only like 900 lines of code KEK, already making 170k/year. FUCK nursing

Props man, your post made me kek because that's the exact same life path I was going on. I made the switch to CS at 32, got the job at 33.5, it's absolutely, without a doubt worth it. Nursing was killing me inside, I couldn't stand the people I worked with and I actually loved Nursing School. I became a RN at 22 and as I got into my late 20s I was legitimately fed up and so fucking sick of Nursing that I questioned why I even pursued it in the first place. It's 100% not too late at all to switch. I'd do some research and figure out what kind of programming interests you and do some free online bootcamps. It's not as hard as you think, but it takes time. A lot of people don't have the ability to put out sustained effort so a lot of people get filtered. You just need to program 3 hours a day, everyday and it'll work out. I did travel nursing for 2 years before I went per-diem and started pursuing CS.
