I'm a an overworked wagie so I didn't really get the time to research about Crypto.

I've only recently started looking once the ftx news made headlines. Give it to me straight so I don't waste any more time : this is all a meme right? Even bitcoin? It seems the only way to make money is offload it to the next retard. What is the redpill on this

From what I've gathered is either luck, or expert-level analysis. The latter most people don't have the patience to seek out.

OP people are convinced that Bitcoin is a kind of digital gold, something that can't be inflated away, and even stolen (lol yes it can) unlike things in your physical possession. People are also convinced that blockchain as a means of trustless accounting for transacting in a highly complex economy is a revolutionary technology that will 'eat the world'.
All of this to say that I personally like gold, firearms, dogs, women, skills and business acumen because these to me are tried and true inflation proof things, but a lot of people, especially poorer or middle class youth are looking for a means to escape from the injustice wrought by bullshit monetary policy and Keynesian economics.

Is it worth looking into now or is it too late for that

We're going to start inflating faster now, I would probably not take too much for granted. Buy gold, buy silver, maybe consider what happens if everybody is angry because poor. Poor people break stuff, go on strike etc. Food supply chain is kind complicated now, maybe consider scenarios where the economy gets fucking bodied by massive inflationary shocks and the civil unrest that comes with that.
