so you're telling me 160 million people use Bitcoin on a weekly basis? lol is this some statistic straight out of CoinDesk?

around 200 million people have exposure to bitcoin. that's use in my book.

active on-chain users are probably less than 10 million imo. definitely less than 25 million.

ofc it is. buying selling and holding bitcoin is using it. it's the biggest utility currently to benefit from it's volatility.

Literally NOBODY fucking uses Bitcoin on a daily basis. Bitcoin still is a niche market and it's only used to buy sketchy stuff on the onions, just like it was back in 2012. Nothing has changed

Also...
Hodling hoping for it to go up in value =/= adoption

see the pattern? cycle to cycle we are at multiples of the previous price it doe compensate for inflation even in this brutal macro insanity. sure we may had like a 100% inflation in 4 years. so what? bitcoin is still up 2-300%. store of value bitch!

How many people “use” gold on a daily basis, retard.

>> No.52572565

>>52572310
Gold is also a shitty investment, but at least it has some fundamental value from industrial, electronics, and jewelry uses.

The value proposition of bitcoin was that it was supposed to be a trustless, decentralized means of exchanging value. Right now, the majority of people "using" bitcoin trade it on some centralized exchange where you place your trust in them that they won't scam you out of your holdings, and it is primarily bought in the hopes that some fool will pay more for it than you did. The bitcoin blockchain will only validate roughly 2,000 transactions every 10 minutes, making it pathetic for wide scale adoption as a decentralized currency.
