OK, I am finally starting to grasp a lot more on doing the options after these last few days of focus towards figuring it out. I very much appreciate you causing me to do so. I have run up on something very confusing though, that a put can have a strike price that is higher than the present sale price (like a put on Mara which is at ~$6 has a strike of $10), but the breakeven and profit prices are below the present price. The only part of that which makes sense to me is the breakeven and profit making prices being below the present price for a put...the strike price being higher eludes my understanding.

Yes, that's why it is so confusing to me. If I have "the right" to sell a presently $6 stock at a strike price of $10, but the breakeven price is $5, and the making money is below that, then how does that work out when I am needing the stock to be less than $5 but can only "sell" at $10, and the whole point of a put is to bet it will be going lower than present price? I am sure my structure of understanding is flawed but I am needing to find where the error is because that outlay make less than sense to me as it stands.
