it's not really that advanced, but the numbers of losses can get quite high and make you uncomfortable. If you bought it in at the high this year you could have been down 60% total which can look intimidating. I used such a wide margin like 50% because I too don't think I can time a top or a bottom, and I think when you begin to react at at something like 20% loss that's exactly what is happening. Lump sum may be better but it's not a good option for low income people like myself, I think. I could be wrong.

So I wanted to have it structured in a way that was biased towards winners, i.e. I'm not selling my winners and reducing my gains by doing so, but also I know I must take profit. So I also needed a way to have it biased against my losers. So that's why I increase my position at 25% gain for winners and 50% loss for losers. This way I am always investing more into my winners, and assessing the state of my losers, where in most cases I will just cut losses rather than increase position.
