We have it all; Endless wilderness and towering snowcapped mountains. World class hiking, camping, hunting, rafting, fishing, rock climbing, skiing, surfing, kayaking, and mountaineering.

BC has the third most protected wilderness of anywhere on Earth. 14.4% of our land is in one of our many provincial parks, and much more is still wilderness, or in national, or municipal parks.

Come to stay, or just to visit! Hike, fish, hunt, or even just take a road trip and car camp / hike all across the province, you'll never run out of wilderness to explore here!

Rogers Pass British Columbia is an awe-inspiring place. The heart of Glacier National Park, and the birthplace of Canadian mountaineering, this area also is steeped in tragic history, being the location of Canada's longest running military operation (Operation PALACI)

Rogers Pass is a high mountain pass through the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia. It was here, that the legendary Canadian Pacific Railroad passed through to get to the Pacific Ocean. This railroad was essential is connecting British Columbia to the rest of Canada. But through Rogers Pass, tragedy would strike again and again on this railway. Passing through a mountainous valley, with towering steep slopes on either side, and winter snowfall averaging 10 metres (30 feet), the avalanches in Rogers Pass were deadly, and legendary among CPR train conductors and workmen. Over 25 years, men died every winter in the pass, hit by avalanches. If they were lucky, the men would die instantly, If the men were unlucky, they would be buried alive under metres of concrete-hard snow, and would slowly suffocate as the condensation from their breath formed an impermeable ice mask around their mouth and nose.

Over 200 people died to Avalanches in the pass over the first 25 years of the line. Eventually, a 6 kilometer long tunnel was built under the pass, the mountains had won.

>For now...

Cringe, ecotourism is a significant part of BC's economy, and supports a lot of our small communities. Interest in the outdoors in BC and preserving our wild places is at an all time high. The growing ecotourism industry helps promote the protection, maintenance and building of trails, campgrounds, parks, and our wild places in general.

British Columbia is blessed with incredible natural beauty, and vast wilderness. We should be proud of this, and encourage people to come see and explore our wilderness, it will promote its preservation for the next generations.

>Over 200 people died to Avalanches in the pass over the first 25 years of the line. Eventually, in 1916 a 6 kilometer long tunnel was built under the pass, the mountains had won.

...until 1962

The Canadians came back with firepower, to lay seige to the mountains of Rogers Pass, and reclaim the territory they had retreated from in 1916.

The pass was selected for the route of the Trans-Canada highway. To help fight off the wrath of mother nature, the Canadian military established Operation PALACI, and stationed howitzer artillery alongside the highway to fire explosives at the mountains, and dislodge avalanches before snow could accumulate enough to threaten the highway. This, in conjunction with an extensive system of bunker-like snowsheds, that the highway passed through, avalanche barriers and prepositioned plows and snow-excavation equipment is what allowed Canada to keep the highway through the pass open, and allow access to beautiful Glacier National Park

Prince George here

Everything north of Kelowna is God's country and will become the defacto bastion of (((canadians))) in the province (Pajeets and other brownoids are shipped up here but cant cope with the cold/snow and want to be in the Burnaby/Surrey hive city with the rest of their ilk). Yes there are natives but you mostly wont even see them unless you go downtown or to Wal-Mart. Some of the smaller towns up north have a lot of german and Ukrainian settlers who still even have accents; its almost like being in europe

B.C remains the best province for the outdoorsman; hiking, hunting, biking, fishing etc etc..enough vast untamed land that you can vanish into the woods and no one will find you

Also, central-north british columbians have far more in common with Alberta than they do the mainland, in the extremely horrible and unfortunate event of wexit, central north b.c. could be coerced into joining a separatist Alberta/Saskatchewan movement, so keep that in mind if you move to north b.c. you will be surrounded by these awful racist hillbilly fascists!

everywhere in BC is minority white, you can go to the most northern rural town and there's more indians than there are whites

rent in a small town in BC costs more than it does in hong kong, new york, tokyo or san francisco, a shitty basement suite in the ghetto is over $2000+utilities, this is not an exaggeration in the slightest, look up listings

every single town in BC has heroin addicts littering the downtown areas, no matter how small and rural and conservative and christian and whatever other cope you want to come up with, every single town in this province is an unlivable shithole

alberta is slightly nicer than BC but it's still canada and therefore still part of the worst country on earth, i pray every day for stinkies to finally take off so i can buy a nuke and kill every single person in this god forsaken third world shithole of a country

Quebec accidentally became one of the most intelligently prepared economies and it's literally like 80% government there kek.
While it's a pretty hilarious place to try to do business, Quebec prevented itself from distorting the economy using the credit that the rest of the world got drunk on because it was and is obsessed with being self-sufficient, and it is ironically one of best examples of central planning in the world after maybe China or something, but it actually just accidentally benefitted from a confluence of factors.
99.8% of the electricity is renewable, and while there is no oil it does have gas reserves and the St Lawrence Seaway is one of the most impressive trading routes in North America.
If they wanted they could line up the entire seaway with factories and manufacturing and literally load the ships right there.
It also produces 2% of the world's gold, and a fuckload of Alluminium and steel.
And maple syrup.
