i have a legit question, i'm a bit of a new but when ppl say not your keys not your crypto, does it mean to withdraw stablecoins like BUSD and USDC to my own wallet? does it really matter? if binance goes down then there is no more busd, same with coinbase or i'm not thinking the right way?

Yup, no one gives a fuck if there's money to be made. I remember traders and investors after the 2008 crash talking about "leading meaningful lives" and "spending more time with family" and shit.

The implosion of the ENTIRE US FINANCIAL SYSTEM only affected mentality for like 4 FUCKING MONTHS. Fuck this FTX shit, people will be back sooner than you think.

The way I see it, the crypto honeymoon of valueless shit coins being pumped by wallstreet is ending once regulation comes in. IF regs don't come wallstreet will keeping pumping shitcoins on CEXs, but I think the real future of crypto is privacy coins on DEXs who have dedicated developers who take cuts of transactions on the DEX.

fpbp. worst case scenario if you're not a trader you can still make it by playing the game of severe pump & dump PvP for continual 5-10x gains.

Yes. I think a more cogent argument is that we should not have even had the last bullrun.
DeFi summer 2020 was a massive explosion of top tier products: AAVE, SNX, UNI, YEARN, Balancer, Compound, Curve. Crazy gigabrain products and a real golden age of crypto development.
After that, 99% of things that have happened have been worthless VC grifter shit. OHM/MIM/TIME/SPELL was a nothingburger, Dogcoins weren't even pretending to be serious, and out of all the DeFi 2.0 products I would say that only a couple are actually as good as the original wave of DeFi summer projects (GMX is a particular stand out from the new gen). On top of that, all the new "ETH killers from SOL to APTOS were just low energy VC grifts with fake metrics, fake fans and fake ecosystems.
So since 2020 we have really been in an abysmal period from a tech standpoint. But after the Merge, EIP 4844 and 4884, CCIP, Chainlink staking, and DECO, should be the start of the "real" bullrun where actual useful shit becomes the norm instead of the exception.
Just be ready for the fact this might still be a year or two away.

The end for crypto when was someone made software to create new cryptos and then thousands of new coins (mostly real scams with scam contracts to steal your money) were created weekly.

In 2018-20 there were 100 coins and you could put money on any on them and you would have made profit. And they were no scams. Now with tens of thousands of coins (90% of them pure scams) it is almost impossible to find a proper coin to make real profit because of such inmense number of coins (so the money is diversified). Also all boards would be filled with hundreds of new coins and people mostly would fail to find the proper one.

Also since most people dont want to make the same mistakes (being a bagholder) after the first mini-pump they would sell and would look for a different coin. So massive profits like x20 or x50 will never happen again. People would sell at the first dump to avoid commiting the same mistakes they did in the previous cycles.

Absolutely (FPBP in this case) - crypto is going nowhere and defi isn't, either. I plan on buying a shit ton of Zoodao and Cardano as well as Eth in preparation for next cycle's NFT/defi craze, which *will* happen, because everyone knows just how stupidly profitable GOOD* crypto can be. Those who think that FTX was the last nail on the coffin for crypto as a whole are brainlets in my humble opinion.

The ONLY thing that kind of scares me are regulations. Thanks to this whole ordeal those *are* going to happen, hard. We'll see what they come up with. That won't kill crypto either mind you but it will prevent it from going back to what it was in 2020.

*GOOD as in not complete dogshit products.

One last one probably. Every time crypto has a bull cycle it means more people understand how useless it is. People who were sitting on the sidelines and during the fomo cycle started looking into it and doing their own research. The reality is that crypto is useless and just something people use to trade coins and try to make money.

BUSD, USDT and USDC are not cryptocurrencies they are smart-contract tokens on shitcoins or Ethereum
Nobody tells you to keep shitcoins or tokens in your own wallets
