USD in TFSA costs money I believe per quarter, but yeah it's worth it. There are certain things you can do with options you cant with shares + it's basically using margin without the loan cost. If you have 1000 contracts of options you have a lot more money working for you than 1000 share purchases. Not that I do that, but it's a way to easily scale in and out of positions as necessary.

I'm also with Questrade. Stocks are $4.95 to $9.90 per trade, etfs have no buy cost, but the sell cost is $9.90 or something, and options are $9.95 + $1/contract

I'd recommend buying etfs to accumulate positions and take profits once in a while. Only trade individual stocks if there's enough of a potential move. I'm long uranium and writing CCs against it for some extra income. I have both a TFSA and a margin account. My long holds are in TFSA, while my risky plays are in margin (can claim capital losses).

QT also offers some kind of way to link margin with TFSA accounts; I'm approved for level 4 options (writing uncovered spreads) and use my TFSA as collateral. I manage trades for my dad and I have no risk of maxing out my contribution room anytime soon, therefore I can use it as collateral to enable the spreads ($25,000 minimum). Of course, I'm not writing naked calls on TSLA or retarded things like that. It'll be a very small position with perhaps $300 downside, but I like to have the ability to trade how I want.

>an old playstation 3 game from 2012
which game homie? im currently replaying GTA Vice City Definitive Edition (Free for the top tier PS Plus subscribers) and I have a dual falchion wielding wretch in Elden Ring.

Long story short, the reporting agencies dont provide data on all of the markets but they do provide data on "off exchange" trades. And "off exchange" activity accounts for roughly 1/3rd of total market activity, and "short /selling" really means that goyims like us are buying (meaning market makers are selling short to us) and when we sell to the MMs it gets reported as a long sale, not a short sale. And speculative short sellers are only a tiny % of total "short sells" the majority of short sales are really goys like us buying from a market maker. So when these off exchange short sale volume is greater than 45% it correlates to 5% gains over a 60 day period. Meaning when short sell volume is high, it means the goys are buying, meaning we are bullish in the medium to long term. IDK if its a good indicator for day to day market movement, more-so overall market trends in the medium to long term. So sorry pal, cant help ya but with the scam pump at market close today I'll bet on a violent crab. The daily SPY chart looks to me like we have topped. We were at 2 standard dev upper bollie band this week and then pulled back. the RSI and SRSI are over bought and look like they are ready for a pullback. MACD looks ready for a pullback. But i'm so heemed I dont even want to pretend I know where the market will go. I am a reactive trader

the problem is that the fed is forced to buy stuff like MBS while also selling/letting bonds mature, so the QT isn't actually 80 bil a month

Most government needs with respect to the DOD don't need the most advanced nodes for machines and equipment they have already in the field 10-20 years ago and even the most recent stuff like the new F-35 first flew in 2006. 2006 was when the most cutting edge chip was the Intel Core 2 series of chips using 65 nm technology while most people were on 90nm. So what Skywater has is sufficient for a good portion of things the government or DOD would want. Redesigning chips and certifying new parts in place when you can just make the chips elsewhere at Skywater, per say, is more expensive. Any cutting edge stuff and need for using them with custom ASICS, FPGAs, AMD and Intel will obviously be sourced elsewhere but Skywater is betting they'll be ready for getting there when today's R&D projects go into production, they'll have gotten to more advanced lithography.
