Of all things, I cashed out about $20k in gains on Cardano and about $4k from RevPop. I didn't believe or even like either project at all but made some nice swings.
My biggest losses were Pregnant Butt, Parsiq and Grumpy Cat.

Starting my own business and it's not even close
I got laid off from my first job after college, and I started doing small concrete jobs on my own.
I went out and got a tool truck, a trailer, and a skid steer and went around to different building maintenance companies for warehouses and apartment complexes asking if they had any small concrete jobs they wouldn't mind letting me do.
After the first year, I had 50k in the bank and all my bills were paid.
Kept going and slowly did bigger and bigger jobs.
Now my company does 2-3 million a year in a mix of residential and commercial concrete work that leaves me with 10-15% net profit after all expenses/taxes/etc

It can be stressful, but it's no worse than buying some shitcoin and watching it lose 90% and having to wait it out before you can sell.
Plus, making money in your own business is extremely satisfying when it's working well.
When it's bad, it's really really bad though.
