Hey, pretty new to this but come from a tradfi background. Way I understand it Chainlink is like the crypto police because it gives assurances that actors are being honest (pricing, bridges, reserves, randomness, etc...). So shouldn't they market it that way, like "if it's not chainlinked I won't ink it". Also that way their stock would go up in times of uncertainty like now (think how weapon stocks go up when there's a war). The slogan is on me you're welcome

look at their PoR product after FTX shit, i bet the exchanges won't introduce it as they like how things are now

also lots of criticism of the old cmo, she's just been removed so might get tighter messaing now

>> No.52483176

You seem genuine so I'll help you get a better perspective on crypto.
It's retarded. I could just stop there. It's absolutely retarded. There are Blockchains that routinely go offline, don't work properly, and fail at their primary goal and yet they are still worth billions in MC. There are dog coins that pump 10000% if Elon tweets about them. There are projects that have achieved nothing in the past five years that are still worth huge amounts of money. Fundamentals don't matter. At all. Chainlink had a conference recently where the ex CEO of Google sang their praises in front of a live audience. Doesn't matter. Price dropped. Confirmed to be working with Swift over many years. Doesn't matter. Big companies lining up to run CL nodes and provide their data. Doesn't matter. Binance comes out with their own oracle solution. Take a look at the code, oh it's copy pasted Chainlink code. Doesn't matter.
All your questions only make sense in a world where crypto isn't retarded.
I agree with you that the marketing is abysmal though.
Now wait until some hysterical transvestites come to shit up the thread.

I don't know. It's infuriating sometimes. They call it stealth mode. Some claim they are scared of being deemed a security and therefore refuse to even acknowledge the token's existence.
>Has Chainlink reacted to that?
Nope. Moreover many lending platforms and exchanges were caught red-handed using user funds to open massive short positions on Link and manipulate the price. It was all confirmed. Not a peep from Sergey et al.

Yeh, I have to agree. It's gotten to the point now where I almost enjoy fantasising they might be true despite knowing they're not. It sort of passes the time. I have no doubt that in a few years we'll be at those kind of figures, but next summer... nah. We won't even be on v1.0 by then.
I just want to retire and never have to worry about working again. I don't even want to be super rich particularly. I wonder what v0.1 will do for the price, if anything?
The other thing i've been wondering is; will we get early staking when the 25M rises to 75M? ie will we get to have 21,000 Links staked? That would triple our initial income. Has this been discussed yet?

You're asking a lot of good questions, you're just in the wrong place. If you as much as question a single thing about Link on this board, the thread derails into a back and forth about you being a secret agent fudder. To be fair, this happens on pretty much every stock board too. It's hard for people not to get emotional about their investment, especially as the numbers get larger.

I hold Link and am probably more frustrated about the lack of action over these exchanges manipulating them than anything else. I had suspected for a while that Sergey is too out in the clouds and then seeing that Schmidt talk confirmed. I wish he was more ruthless.

With all of that said, this is still going to be a really good investment imo. These are just bumps in the road for now, and as Sergey and co mature these issues will be ironed out. If you're looking at an entry, I think you have at least six months to develop a nice position here. There's a test version of staking coming out in December (allegedly), but given it's a limited test version and the state of macro markets, I wouldn't expect any massive sustainable pumps. So for the foreseeable future, Link, like everything else, is at the mercy of overrall markets, fed interest raises, etc.
